Yes, more than once. I tried  with Safe Mode and it ran and picked up the correct file. Tried in normal mode and no good. Windows 10 Pro.

I would try to reinstall, but don't know where a newer install file is. May not know where the original install file is located. Almost looks like it is trying to find the file in Documents without luck. Time for my  beauty sleep so will try again in the AM.

If Quicken works in Safe Mode, I suggest you incrementally restart the Windows services and other programs that are part of your normal boot to determine which service or program is interfering with Quicken.

What did the update do, is the question I would have.  What you suggest could take hours and not find anything. Guess I could restore an image and try again.

What I suggested would not take hours but you can certainly spend hours restoring an image to reproduce the issue.

An image restore too < 10 minutes.  Got fixed with Quicken chat. Some how it was set to open a data file from an external drive that is only used for backups. It had been working for weeks before yesterday.

The usb drive is not turned on unless I want to do a backup
