What is the exact release number for your version of Quicken?
If clicking on Help / About Quicken does not show one of the following you are missing required software updates:
Quicken US version:

- "2014 ... Release R10",  https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2014-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch
- "2015 ... Release R12",  https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2015-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch
- "2016 ... Release R11", https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2016-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch
- "2017 ... Release R4(or higher)", https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2017-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch

Quicken Canada version:

- 2014 ... Release R4
- 2015 ... Release R4
- 2016 ... Release R3
- 2017 ... not yet available
Quicken Canada users: Do not download the patch or Mondo Patch files in the above links. They apply to Quicken US users only. Instead, scroll down the webpage to the Quicken Canada section and download the file hiding behind a clickable word "here".

Please do this:
Locate the Mondo Patch file (US) or Canada Mondo patch file applicable to your version of Quicken in the links above.
Download it and save it to disk.
Temporarily disable your Antivirus software for the entire duration of the next step:
Right-click the downloaded patch file. Click "Run as Administrator" to execute the installation program.
This will replace any Quicken software modules with a known consistent release level and, hopefully, eliminate any software corruption or errors during installation as a cause of this issue.

I too can not add back any of my linked bills.  I get the same error code on all 9 bills I did have set up and deleted to start over and eliminate a couple.  They all say Error No Data.  I am using Quicken 2016 version R10 latest update on windows 10 pc.

I am experiencing the same issue with Quicken 2016 Deluxe for Windows, Release 10. Online bills "was" working up until a week or so ago, but now refuses to update any existing billers or add new ones. Wiped with Ctl+Alt+Shift >Add Bill>Clear All, and tried to recreate previously working bills. None worked (Error - no data found). Verified that I could log in to existing billers with a web browser and login/passwords used when Online Bills were working. Did a couple of chat sessions yesterday (00562260 and 00562308) which wasted the afternoon, but did not even come close to addressing the issue. Appears the login and password are being accepted, but the transfer of data from biller to Quicken is the broken link. Like how they mention Quicken 2016 Release 11 in the OP, which does not seem to exist, only up to Release 10. Wow, what a mess.

Hate to say it but glad it's not just me having trouble. Been a bad week apparently Capital One has made changes lately that also is screwing up working with Quicken and my bank's bill pay although I think that's about cleared up now. Hopefully Quicken is aware of problem and will do something soon. I too saw reference to update 11 tried it manually only to be told update 10 which I currently have is latest update .

I upgraded to the last "mondo" update, as suggested but Quicken 2017 (R4 26.1.4.5) still crashes when I click "Link Bill"  I am also still getting red flags next to accounts with no unreconciled entries.

Validate

You need to validate your Quicken data file. It may have become damaged over time or if you ever had crashes while running Quicken.
Please run this procedure, skipping no steps:
- Make a copy of your data file: Click File / File Operations / Copy.  Do not change any Copy Option settings. Save file under a new name in same folder as current Quicken data file.  (The Copy process appears to be performing a record-by-record copy of the data file and not just a simple binary image copy. This has been reported as recovering some otherwise not repairable files)
- Open the copied file in Quicken.
- Click File / File Operations / Validate and Repair. Click Validate File, check to make sure the copied file is being validated, click OK. Let it run.
- Fix any errors logged as not repaired by Quicken.
Now close and restart Quicken using this new file and try your failing action again. If it works, keep using the new file and abandon the old one.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may have no recourse but to restore your Quicken data file from a Manual or Automatic Backup taken prior to the problem first occurring, if necessary going back to older backups until you find a file that does not exhibit these symptoms.

Thank you.  I did all of that, including restoring a backup.  Still no change.  Then Quicken popped up a message telling me to update all of my bills. I had already tried that from each individual account screen, with no success.  Then I found the "Online Bills" link.  On that screen, each bill had a button to re-create the link.  I did that for each and it worked.  However, I am still getting red flags next to accounts, in my account list, with no reconciled entries.  I consider that to be a minor problem and can live with it.  Thank you, again.

At the affected register, press CTRL-ALT-U and see if that works.

If that does not work, see if this Quicken article helps: https://www.quicken.com/support/missing-some-transactions-when-downloading-bank

Online Bill presentment has nothing to do with the red flags.  Online bills only "status information" other than on the One Step Update Summary, is on the Bills -> Online Bills page.

Thank you.  I read the article and it said to turn off automatic entry.  That worked.  Thanks again.

I also have had this issue - I posted about a week back. Don't call/chat with quicken they are worthless. I asked if their bill pay server was down and the person had no idea. I'm running 2017 R4 and have validated, etc... doesn't matter i you delete your bills or not, the issue is the quicken on my PC can't talk to the Bill Pay server... because it is unresponsive.

Jeff I believe Quicken finally fix this at least mine is now working. I had deleted all awhile back and was unable to add any of them back until earlier today when I was able to add the all back. To start fresh and delete all bill set ups hold CTL>ALT>SHFT and hit the +NEW Bills.

Boyd, I gave it a try and no avail. I was able to add billers but once I added wasn't able to connect to the server to update. I also couldn't get the CTL>ALT>SHFT on + New Bills to work. I also went to manage bills where you can remove bills, you couldn't in 2016 and when I click on remove bills it won't connect to the server....

This is what worked for me:  Click the Bills tab and then Online Bills. Do not use the Bill Reminders link.   That won't work.

Well it may be different now in 2017 program I am still using 2016 Quicken for windows.  You might try making a good backup and try doing a data validation under file operations and fix any problems the report might show. It could also be that Quicken hasn't gotten to 2017 for the fix yet,  you might want to try again in a few days.

Just so people know, starting with Quicken 2017 R4, they went to a different service provider for Online Bills.  And such the "hidden" key sequence no longer applies.

In other thread Quicken Tamara suggested that the way to "Clean out" the new Online bill information is to reset your cloud data.
See this thread:
