Am having the same issues with Quicken 2015 R12. If I can download QFX then try and open it to populate the specific banking account, it either shuts down Quicken and/or says it's trying to install features that are not available from the the CD/DVD drive. Rebooted the computer and have the same issues.

We're investigating this issue and hope to have a resolution as quickly as possible--in the meantime, you can follow this announcement to be notified when this issue is resolved: https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/new-5-19-17-import-qfx-reports-msi-error-1706-on...

In the meantime, we'd like to get this information from you, if possible:
  1. Did you recently install a Windows update?
  2. What version of Windows are you using?

To get the exact version of Windows, you can go to the Start menu, click Run and type "cmd" (or, in Windows 10, right-click the Start/Windows menu on the left of the toolbar and click Run).  In the prompt that appears, type "winver" and a Window with the exact version number will appear.

Thank you for your patience while we investigate this issue--
Quicken Kathryn

Hi @ Robert Kelly ,

Note: Ver # not needed but Build information is most important, is needed.

Do you do Manual Backups of Quicken 2015 Data file?

I'm having the same issue downloading QFX files today.  Quicken 2015 R12.  Last successful QFX download was on 5/17.  Windows 10.0.14393 with last update installed was on 5/16/2017 KB3150513.

I am running Windows 7 Professional and Windows Update is broken, so the last update was July, 2016.

I have found that if I save the QFX [oops, it's now an OFX file!!!] file into my downloads folder and then go to the Quicken file and use File->Import->WebConnectFile and click on the file, it works.

I also note that the file is an OFX file, NOT a QFX file.  It is not impossible that our bank has changed this and that has caused the problem.  I cannot investigate that possibility until Monday.

Hi @ Mike McCants ,
What about on your Home Computer?
Also, if a Work Computer, have you complained to Tech Support?

I do not have Quicken on my home computer.  I will contact support for the work computers on Monday.  Note that the bank is generating an OFX file??, not a QFX file.  Could that have changed in the last 24 hours?

Well, if I choose .OFX or .QFX or .QBO, there are only very minor differences in the actual files downloaded.  All of them start with:
OFXHEADER:100DATA:OFXSGML
VERSION:102
SECURITY:NONE
ENCODING:USASCII
CHARSET:1252

but the QFX file does have a proper <FI>, <FID> and <INTU.BID> in it.

The direct download fails from three different computers using Windows 7 and Firefox or IE.

But File>Import>WebConnectFile does work properly.  What has changed since yesterday afternoon?

I would also like to note that today was the first day I have seen a "Pop-up" that advertised that we could purchase Quicken 2017 at a 40% discount.

How could that be related to this problem?

No, these events are wholly unrelated. We have Announcement up on the QFX returning the installer messaging, and will be updating with the other components that are crashing in 2015 & 2016 -- Lifetime Planner, Tax Planner, Cap Gains Estimator, and possibly other planning tools that launch an embedded browser.

"No, these events are wholly unrelated."

Famous last words.  Time to close this discussion.

Without an indication of a fix from Quicken I opened Quicken 2015 this morning to see if the issue was still ongoing, while it was loading there was a second Quicken tab in my taskbar momentarily. The issue now seems to be gone. I recall having an issue with 2012 shortly after the release of 2015 was announced that was fixed with an upgrade? Coincidence?
