Quicken 2016 R12 Linked Account Issue

I am using Quicken 2016 Premier.  Recently Quicken released R12 to correct a problem induced by R11 related to Cash accounts linked to Investment accounts (could not process downloaded transactions in the linked cash account).  R12  fixed the ability to process downloaded transactions in the Cash account, but R12 created other problems related to the Linked Cash account.

This morning I downloaded my transactions for the Investment account (and the linked Cash account).  I have two computers and I have kept one at R10 (which has worked perfectly) and the other is upgraded to R12.  In both R10 & R12, the investment transactions were displayed the same and processed the same.  Once the investment transactions were "done", I hit "CONTINUUE" in both R10 & R12.

I had one downloaded transaction and 3 reminders for the Cash Account.  R10 displayed this info normally as shown in the screen capture below

R12 had no Bill and Income Reminder Tab as shown below


After processing the downloaded Cash Transaction, there were no changes to the tabs available in either version (R10 both Tabs available to click, R12 only the Downloaded Tab).

I exited the R12 Quicken and restarted it.  I went to the cash account and it showed a Dowloaded Transaction Tab (with 0 entries), but below it my Reminders were displayed.  I clicked the downloaded transactions tab and the Reminders disappeared and a blank transactions window showed below the Downloaded Transactions Tab.

Though Quicken R12 did fix one major issue, it created another.  Hopefully this will be identified and fixed by Quicken soon

When you patched up to R12, did you use the mondo patch? If not, I would download and apply the mondo patch.

This morning, I uninstalled Quicken per the procedure described at https://www.quicken.com/support/using-qcleanui-uninstall-quicken.  I then reinstalled Quicken 2016 and intentionally did not let it update.  I then attempted to run the R12 Mondo Patch per the instructions.  I received an error as follows ... "Unable to check for updates, the server file failed to load." error. I clicked the view details and it said ... "Index and length must refer to a location within the string.
Parameter name: length".  I have tried this several times with the same results.  Note that I am running Windows 7 Home Premium with UAC On and both Ant-virus and Anti-malware running.

Also note that I ran the R10 Mondo Patch and it ran smoothly and brought me up to R10 from my "raw install".

Any guidance on how to run R12 Mondo Patch will be appreciated.

Also, does the R12 installation have the Show Reminders in Register set differently than the R10 installation?

This is the little clock icon at the top right corner of the register.

For me, the little clock icon appears only for accounts that I created within the past several months (perhaps after one of the earlier Quicken 2016 updates?).  Most of my accounts don't have that clock icon, including a linked account whose Reminders tab is not visible.

When I updated R10, I first used the update Quicken loaded for R11, then I received a notice that a new update (R12) was available and I let Quicken install it.  Do you think R12 Mondo Patch has something different than in these updates?

Re R12 Show Reminders in Register Set ... In non- Investment-linked-Cash Accounts, the Reminders Tabs and displayed looked the same as in R10 ... Only the Linked Cash account appeared as I described above.

This is an update to my comment above ... I just went to the Quicken 2016 Update page and downloaded the R12 Mondo Update file.  When I tried to execute it, I got "Unable to check for updates, the server file failed to load." error. I clicked the view details and it said ... "Index and length must refer to a location within the string.
Parameter name: length".  I also downloaded the manual R12 update file ... When I executed it, I got the same error.  NOTE that I "ran as admin" in both cases and my Quicken 2016 Home Premium is already R12 ... I did not "go to a back rev" before trying this.

This is a second update to my comments above  ... Re: "Show Reminders in Register" ... I verified that the Show Reminders in Register setting is the same as it is in my R10 installation.  Also, it is the same settings as is in all of my registers.  I hope this answers your question on this issue.

The Bill and Income Reminder tab is missing from my linked cash accounts as well. To compensate I set up the Bill and Income Reminders widget on my  home page.  That way I can see the list of upcoming there when I first open Quicken (2016 R12).

This morning, i opened my R12 installation and did a download update ... I was at R12, but Quicken said there was a new update available.  I downloaded and installed the update.  I am now at R12 (25.1.12.2).  Unfortunately, this update had no effect on the missing Bill and Income Reminder tab in the Linked Cash Account (i.e. it is still absent).

Quicken 2016 Deluxe.  I installed R12 a week ago and here's what's happening in my linked brokerage account now:

There were two transactions which had completed processing yesterday. When I used One-Step Update this morning a red pennant appeared on the linked cash account during the update. Immediately after the update was completed the pennant disappeared. Opening the account register I saw that both transactions had cleared without allowing me to accept  the downloads.

I opened Actions>Register preferences>Downloaded transactions and saw that both After Downloading Transactions option boxes are unchecked. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Check to see if you have Auto-Accept to Register turned on for that account. Tools > Account List > Edit Account > Online Services > Automatic Entry Is:

Click that link if the ...Entry Is: On and check the desired option, if you want to see the Accept/Match options on the next download.

I'm having the same problem.  I've confirmed that the boxes for "Automaticaly add to banking registers" and "Automatically add to investment transaction lists" are un-checked in the register preferences for both the linked account as well as the associated investment account.  Also, the linked account doesn't have an Online Services tab, but in the associated investment account I've confirmed that Auto-Accept to Register is turned off, as you described above.  Downloaded tranactions are still automatically matched and/or entered into the register.

I just tried reinstalling R12.  After the install (R10 to R11 to R12 25.1.12.2) there is no clock in the upper right of the Cash Account Linked to the Investment account and there is no Reminders Tab.  So far, the only release that behaves normally is still R10.

I have release R12 installed and the issue seems to be resolved. It's working as it did before R11. whew!

I got the "Critical update affecting Quicken 2015, 2016, and 2017 users" yesterday. I states, "

To avoid any interruption in your use of Quicken connected services during this transition, please ensure your Quicken application is up to date:

Do you think that this issue is going to keep those of us still on R10 from complying?

Yes.  If you download transactions and are on any previous Quicken release, your downloads will cease as of Sept 30, 2017.

So, if you download transactions and you are using Quicken 2015, 2016 or 2017 the update will be MANDATORY!

I downloaded and installed QW2016R12MPatch successfully, it seems. I forgot to Run as Administrator, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I don't have the Bill and Income Reminders in the linked cash accounts, but It doesn't matter to me as I never have used them.

The last time I let Quicken 2016 update to R12, I found that there was no tab for Reminders.  I then went back and reinstalled and got back to R10 which seems to work fine.

Can someone tell me if R12 has solved the problem (for sure) meaning that in a cash account linked to an investment account there is a tab for Bill and Income Reminders or there is some new method that allows you to access them (hopefully without a complex process ... the Tab approach worked nicely).

Any guidance will be appreciated as I am still under the impression that R12 does not show Bill and Income Reminders in the Linked Cash Account.

I handled the problem by creating a custom tab on my Home Tab.  One of the items you can choose to view there are Bills and Reminders.  When I have a Bill or Reminder in my linked cash account, an exclamation mark will show and prompt me to check the home tab.  I can then enter the Bill or Reminder from there.
