Windows 10 Pro Version 1607, Quicken Deluxe for Windows 2016.
Installed the Release 11 this morning and the bugs began.

First, Quicken wants to keep renaming one of my accounts.

Second, all of my category entries have disappeared from all my accounts when I Sync to the Quicken Cloud.

Third, Quicken insists on wanting to download transactions from my bank online, WHICH I HAVE NOW STOPPED, but had to go in and delete the DUPLICATES from online to match what I had entered manually.

I have used Quicken as a manual tool because the download feature to download transactions does not work for me, I appreciate the ability but Quicken always lists the Payee incorrectly, chooses its own category, etc. This new release just turned my world upside down. I now have no category entries in either account, (I am not going back in to do it again), which means the wonderful graphs and charts I could create to see spending by category is gone.

Can I rollback out of this Release 11? Software has been flawless for years for me, but this new release has screwed the pooch.

I immediately got an email with this subject: Congratulations - You've activated alerts

I did no such thing. It took a while to find the Mobile & Alerts tab which was not automatically displayed, and I will continue to refuse to share any of my Quicken data online or on-mobile. I don't trust that Quicken has enough security in place - too many obvious bugs that go unfixed year-after-year. Not sure I will upgrade to 2017, and may go back to using a spreadsheet to track my finances. Bad software.

Hi @ David ,

Everyone gets that Email. It means nothing, unless you manually add Alerts for Quicken to alert you.

Also, too many Versions and R# out. See this Article: https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/add-your-quicken-information-to-your-posts-plus-...

Hi @ cuddzujr ,

Every time you get a new Patch always go into Quicken Preferences and check the settings and change them to your liking.

Also get into the habit of manually creating a Manual Backup, before a patch is installed and after you make changes to the Data File.

The software is not bad. Allowing Quicken to apply its own suggestions is bad. Keep control.

"The software is not bad. Allowing Quicken to apply its own suggestions is bad. Keep control."  +1 Updates should NOT change any preferences, whatsoever!!!!!!!!!

How about: Updates should not change EVERY preference...

I had a backup, when I tried to recover from it, (the backup I made before the update) it told me it could not restore because that file was in use. Will try to be proactive about reviewing my preferences going forward.

It looks like they have removed the patch not long after activating it. Luckily I hadn't updated yet.

Of course, just my luck! I think I will hold off on the updates moving forward for at least a few weeks after reviewing this site for info and recon.

Thanks all!

@cuddzujr  I you really want to revert to the prior release, you could uninstall Quicken, then reinstall it with the network disabled to prevent the automatic update at the end of the process and then install the release that you want from those release available at this link: http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/quickenpatches.html

R11 is a fail; it completely messed up my cloud. I had to revert to R10 after wasting hours of troubleshooting.   As the Donald would say "R11 is a Disaster"...

Just to close out this thread. I uninstalled Quicken and then reinstalled, fortunately my clean new install was only Release 10, now I just choose 'No' when it asks if I want to update Quicken. Release 11 is garbage and causes major, major problems. I sincerely hope Intuit will stop pushing this release out and fix the issues and work on resolving the errors. If you are considering installing Release 11, my advice? DON'T!!! My clean install with Release 10 is back to normal and all is right with the world again.

Agree. Except that Quicken is no longer owned by Intuit; rather they're now owned by "private equity", i.e. Vultures.

Now that I have Release 11, One Step Update is throwing a message for three of my accounts. Curiously, there is no error. That is, the One Step Update works just fine on these three accounts. The error is that the error message should not occur! Here it is: "Your financial institution has rejected this transaction. For more information. contact your financial institution. OL-295-A"

I'm certain my financial institution is not at fault here. I plan to roll back to version 10. In addition, ever since Release 11, one of my accounts doesn't get its category updated any more. It's blank.
