Set up a credit card with web connect and downloading ok but all transaction in prior statement periods are rolled into a balance forward and I could use the split feature to manually load in 100 or so transactions but was looking for a way to upload that I have the transaction downloaded from my bank in a quicken format but how do I add them to the web-connected credit card account?

Wow, that was one LONG sentence. I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding what you're asking. Can you try to break your question down step by step as to what you've done and what you're trying to accomplish?

Sorry about that let me know if this is clearer

I have set up a credit card account in quicken with web connect and downloaded current transactions all is fine.  This is a new card with approx 3 months of activity.  The two prior statement periods of transactions did not download and are represented on the download by a balance forward.  How do I get the detailed transaction to download for the prior statement periods?
one option is to manually input all the detailed transaction in the split section for the balance forward entry but that seemed like a lot of work, its about 100 or so transactions.  I am looking for a way to upload those historical transactions (by historical I mean the last 2 months).  I did manage to get my bank (Union Bank) to download a quicken formatted file of those historical detailed transactions but not sure how to initiate the upload with a web-connected account.  Ideas?

First of all, if you need to enter manually, don't enter them as a split to the balance forward transaction. You will lose Payee info that way and be inconsistent with your other entries. Instead, enter regular transactions and adjust the amount of the balance forward transaction as needed (if it doesn't do it automatically).

If you have a QFX file with the earlier transactions, click menu File > Import > Bank or Brokerage File to import it to your account. It may link to your existing account automatically, or you may be asked to link it. Or it may only let you create a new account. If so, that's not a problem. After creating the new account, select all the transactions there and drag them to the existing account in the sidebar. You can then delete the now-empty new account.
