When an info box pops up, my mouse pointer drives upper left after 2017 upgrade.

I've just upgraded to Version R3 (build 26.1.3.4) and any time an information box pops up the mouse pointer drives upper left. This just started happening after the upgrade and is the only program causing this. I'm on a Dell 7737 Win10 system.

1) Make sure your mouse driver is up-to-date for your version of Windows and the hardware.

2) - "2017 ... Release R3(or higher)", https://www.quicken.com/support/quicken-2017-windows-release-notes-updates-and-mondo-patch

Please do this even if you already are at the latest release:

Locate the Mondo Patch file in the link above.
Download it and save it to disk.
Temporarily disable your Antivirus software for the entire duration of the next step:
Right-click the downloaded patch file. Click "Run as Administrator" to execute the installation program.
This will replace any Quicken software modules with a known consistent release level and, hopefully, eliminate any software corruption or errors during installation as a cause of this issue.

I know what the problem is.  And it is a bug in Quicken 2017.

If you check I'm sure you have this option on:

Well it seems that at times Quicken is some how putting some hidden/off screen dialog in the upper left/right of the screen and it has the "default" button set.  Your mouse is jumping to that button.

I know because the same happens to me.  I really like that feature especially on a laptop I have where I'm using a touch pad.

Yep, I do have that selected, and will leave it on. Quicken needs to fix this instead of me having to do a "workaround". It used to work and now it doesn't. I really can't see what the "major" changes are with 2017 and wonder why I needed to/wanted to upgrade.

You might have a long wait.  One thing that determines their priority on fixing bugs is how many people have the problem.  And as you can see by UKR's reply this isn't on my people radar.

Well, actually I have that enabled to save driving the mouse around for all of my other applications. I had to turn it off for this 1 incorrectly written app. Just isn't right at all.

I have the same problem with the mouse pointer jumping to the upper left corner. I also just upgraded to Quicken 2017.

Stay tuned, guys. It's on the programmers' "Honey Do List". It'll be fixed when they get a round tuit.

Meanwhile ... do you really need the "Snap to default button" enabled?

"Need" is a strong word.  In general I need air, water, food, shelter.  Most things after that are pretty much wants, but some things are trivial and some are highly desirable.

This option is highly desirable to me and others, especially on a laptop where you are using the touch pad instead of a mouse.

Thought I posted a reply, but do not see it.
So I will try to recreate it as I did not copy the text.
YES, we need this mouse feature to work. The "Snap To" function within Windows saves a LOT of mouse movement, especially on pop up dialog boxes. Most if not all apps I have used in the past have utilized this built in Windows feature, even previous version of Quicken. I am running Windows 10, with all current updates. I upgraded from Q 2016 Premier to Q 2017 (Rel 3) Home & Business. Install went fine, my data file converted ok, but I had to redo my register column settings. Only other issues I have noticed so far is that when Quicken 2017 starts up, the register appears and it takes a couple of seconds for the left and top parts to appear. Most of the update features work like Download Transactions and Quotes, but the Update Bills function crashed on me ( I sent a crash report to Quicken). Clearly a BUG that should NOT be some Honey Do list but on a priority list.

Well, I just got the latest update and got excited that perhaps this had been repaired. I see there was no reason to get excited at all.

I too had a glimmer of hope when I saw a Quicken Update available. In my case this is even more annoying as I am running two monitors and the mouse pointer moves to the upper left corner of Monitor 2, even though Quicken is displayed on Monitor 1. Does anyone know how high or low on the fix list this bug is?

Even if you are in the beta where they will show the list of bugs, they don't show priority.

Frankly judging by years of use, answering questions on Quicken forums, and being in betas, my estimate would be "low priority".

They are going to base their priorities on "how destructive" (data loss, crash, can't perform some function at all, ...).  And on number of users affected.  And easy of workaround.

None of which this one falls into.  I expect truncated text on a dialog to get a higher priority with them.

Sorry to be such a downer, but that is how I see it.

Quicken Mouse Pointer Problem

Quicken 2017 Deluxe – Version R4 – Build 26.1.4.5

MS Windows 10 Pro – Version 10.0.14393 – Build 14393

I have Windows “Snap To” enabled for my Mouse.  Whenever there is a focus change in Quicken, the mouse pointer jumps to the upper left screen corner and not to the active form button that is intuitive.

Please correct.

This is an annoying "addition" with the latest update.  I've been using Quicken for more than 10 years and this is the first time I've encountered this issue.  So somebody did something--it just didn't happen by itself.

I've migrated through many PAID FOR versions of Quicken over many years.

Seems Intuit has lost their skilled software developers.
VERY SAD! (as our new President might tweet)

This software BUG remains unacceptable after many months (5 months so far, and all 6 versions of Quicken 2017, now R6).

Program opens - pointer jumps to top left corner of screen.

Drag my cursor back down to click on One Step Update - pointer immediately jumps to top left corner of screen as new dialog box opens.

Drag my cursor back down to click on and Enter password for my Intuit ID, click Sign In - pointer immediately jumps to top left corner of screen as new dialog box opens.

Drag my cursor back down to click on Update Now, Update completes then - pointer immediately jumps to top left corner of screen.

Drag my cursor back down to begin doing some data entry.

The whole point of "Snap To" for Mouse settings was to save time and effort while doing productive work. This is NOT Rocket Science!?!? I don't know what your programming language calls it, but both you and the code need to get control of "Focus" for the pointer.
