Won't let me make an Intuit ID account to register Quicken

I've tried several times but it won't let me make an account.
It keeps saying:
We weren't able to sign you up.
Please check your internet connection.
If everything looks OK, then the problem may be on our end. We'll resolve it ASAP

Hello Sara,

Please visit the article linked below and select your year version of Quicken, this will take you to the updates page (we were not able to tell which year you where running as that detail is missing for your problem description). From the updates page, download and run the Mondo patch for your Quicken. This should resolve your issue.

If you are trying to create a Quicken account and not an account (as in banking or credit card) in Quicken, you already have one, it is the one that you used to post this question.

I logged in with Facebook here and tried to recover my password using my facebook email address. It can't find an account. I tried updating Quicken, still didn't work. Thank you!

Sorry about that bad advice, in the previous forum (last month), the Id used to login to the forum was an Intuit/Quicken Id, but now with the new forum, the ability to use a Facebook/Google/GetSat Id does not mean it is usable in Quicken.

Having the same issue.  Just purchased the software a couple hours ago - it installed no problem went to open Quicken its asking me for my InTuit ID which I tried and getting the message "Unknown Error Occurred. Please Try to Connect Later" I know User ID and Password are correct because Turbo Tax opens no problem.  Installed the latest Update.  Are Servers Down or is there another issue?  Thanks

I was not able to create a Quicken Account than saw the note that said my TurboTax UID and PW should work for this so I tried that and had no success.  When I tried to create an ID I received the same error that Sara who started the thread had.  When I logged into TurboTax I was able to do so no problem.  Just uninstalled and reinstalled so I will try this patch you sent as well.

I just upgraded from 2013 to 2016 (Cash manager - Canadian Edition) and it also won't let me create an Intuit account thus it won't let me open Quicken 2016...
