It seems that libruby1.8 (version 220.127.116.11-2) as used on Ubuntu 10.4 gives a warning when using autospec.
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/pathname.rb:263: warning: `*' interpreted as argument prefix
/usr/bin/ruby1.8 /var/lib/gems/1.8/gems/rspec-1.3.0/bin/spec --autospec /home/robert/rails_projects/sample_app/spec/controllers/pages_controller_spec.rb -O spec/spec.opts

It's a known issue (http://osdir.com/ml/debian-bugs-dist/...) and can be fixed as described there if one doesn't like unsightly warnings.
PS I followed the Automate Everything recipe.
EMPLOYEEI’m thankful0Thanks for letting me know. Since these kinds of warnings are mostly platform-dependent and (though annoying) are usually harmless, I've decided that it's not worth the trouble to track them all. If enough other people have this problem, though, I'll definitely add a note.
