  • Version 1.1

-Added the ability to allow or block popup windows on each site. Popups will only open URLs which are allowed by the current rule set. For example, you may want to allow popups on a website that opens games in a separate window.

-Popup windows now open in a separate small window when in
Kid Mode instead of trying to open in the main browser (opening in the main browser was causing window resize issues on OSX)

-Reconfigured rule checking so that multiple sites per domain can be added and have different rules. For example, two YouTube video URLs can have different rules. When there are conflicts the software will accept the URL whenever at least one of the rulesets allows it. It will reject the URL if all rulesets disallow it.

-Reconfigured rules to always reject any URL that is not http:// or https://, such as mailto: URLs and other URLs which could open a third party program.

-Substantially reduced the executable file size from 80 mb to 10 mb.

  • Version 1.2

    -Added Kiosk Mode

Windows: If Kiosk Mode is enabled (from the preferences window) the kid browser window will enter a kiosk mode in a new, blank desktop which prevents opening other programs, alt-tab and other keystrokes. It does not currently prevent Ctrl+Alt+Delete. This may be added in a future version.

Mac: If Kiosk Mode is enabled (from the preferences window) the kid browser window will enter a true OS supported Kiosk mode that will not allow access to any part of the OS, other programs, logout, hotkeys, etc.

Linux: Kiosk Mode is not currently supported. If you need Kiosk Mode on Linux please post here.

-Added multiple users for households with multiple children. Each user has their own customizable sites, homepage and security settings.

-Added the ability to start in Kiosk Mode so that even restarting your computer will result in a safe internet environment if you enable the program to run at startup.

-Better website management: you can easily delete all default websites now without having to select them individually.

-Fixed some bugs that occurred to the site name when adding a new site.

-Fixed a Flash bug that required Mac users to click some flash buttons twice.

-Better preferences window with options sorted into different panels.

-Added the ability to customize your search engine

    -Fixed some window resizing issues

-Rewrote help file and retranslated program

-Replaced that awful purple icon with a nice green and blue one.

-Added system hotkeys for functions like adding a website, editing sites, back, forward, etc.
