Airfoil crashes when my computer tries to connect.

This is on a raspberrypi running debian Linux raspberrypi 3.1.9+ #107 PREEMPT Sun Jun 10 15:57:56 BST 2012 armv6l GNU/Linux

I get this stack trace:

Unhandled Exception: System.ExecutionEngineException: SIGILL
at RogueAmoeba.AirTunes.Server.Rtp.Audio.Decoder..ctor (Int32 frames) [0x00000] in :0
at RogueAmoeba.AirTunes.Server.Rtp.Audio.RtpAudioConnection..ctor (ISyncedAudioPlayerFactory audioPlayerFactory, RogueAmoeba.AirTunes.Server.IPNetworking.SyncCloseSignaler closeSignaler, AddressFamily family) [0x00000] in :0

Is there a codec I need to install?

I can't get Airfoil speakers working on my Raspberry Pi (it comes up with different errors on Raspbian, I think because the libraries aren't compiled for hardfp) but I've got Shairport working instead, which accepts audio from Airfoil perfectly fine.

Download the source from and follow the installation instructions under 'Debian/Ubuntu' at

The downsides are that the audio doesn't sync nicely like with Airfoil Speakers, so it's slightly out of time with any other devices, and it doesn't show the currently playing track or anything, but apart from that it's pretty good.
