All participants will be invited to co-author the paper to be submitted to Nature Biotechnology as part of the Broad-DREAM Gene Essentiality Challenge Collaboration. A necessary condition to form part of this collaboration is that you contribute to the paper by sending a detailed version of your method (for the supplement) and fill a survey with details of your method (for global method comparison). In order not to jeopardize the chances that Nature Biotechnology accepts our paper, we ask that you do not make references to the results of the challenge or use the Challenge data in any of your publications before the Challenge paper is accepted. Indeed, all participants agreed to this publication embargo when joining the challenge.

We hope that participating in this Challenge was beneficial for you. We want to thank you deeply for your participation, because without you DREAM would be nothing. We invite all of you to participate in the DREAM conference, which will be held on November 10th-11th in San Diego (http://www.iscb.org/recomb-regsysgen2014).

Sincerely,
Broad-DREAM Gene Essentiality Prediction Challenge Organizers
