You shoud add "scala by example" in the tutorial section. It's one of the best scala tutorial IMO.

Hi, I totally agree- it's a great tutorial. And it would really benefit from being in converted to HTML. The only reason it's not on docs.scala-lang.org yet is because it's a big document that'll take a bit of time to convert to markdown.

(unless one was to successfully use a tool like pandoc to convert it)

If you'd like to help out on that task, please let me know :)

Hello. I didn't realize everything had to be converted into markdown to be on the site. I thought you could also just provide links to some documents. My fear is that if someone converts it now, the pdf changes in the future and pdf diffs are not trivial. Maybe someone should ask Martin for the (latex I presume) sources? Then it would be much easier to convert and diff.

About me doing it, I'm sorry but I already have tons of side projects and don't want to commit to another one. Sorry.

It would be expected that we move to the markdown version from here on out to make changes to rather than the latex one, that's definitely a given.

(PS, of course we have the latex version.)

Oh right, I didn't realize that. It totally makes sense. Then still the latex version could be useful in order to convert it to markdown (I'm thinking of something like latex --hevea--> html --pandoc--> markdown).

Yep, I agree.

Actually, with pandoc, I'm pretty sure that one can go latex -> markdown directly. I'm guessing that all one would have to do is tweak some config somewhere to handle the macros in the latex doc.
