dividend income discrepancy

There is a difference between All Income value and Dividends value on the shareholding screen. I am only just starting here, so I can's see why. "All Income" (list of all dividends and franking credits) shows the correct amount. The top part of the page, under the chart, that shows Total Return, Capital Gain, Dividends and Currency Gain shows a lesser amount under dividends despite being set to "since first purchase" The difference is $364 on 53K income.

  • Hi Peter,

Without looking at the specific portfolio in question, there are 2 possible reasons why you see a difference:

    1. Check the date ranges you're using on both pages (note date ranges are page & report specific - they do not "stick" with you as you navigate the application).

    2. It could be that in one location you're seeing a reported dividend (not yet paid) and in the other you're only seeing dividends that have been paid out.

  • Doug,

I'll be more specific. I refer to Holdings tab with ANZ bank selected. Top of the screen shows graph where you can select the date. I picked "since first purchase" - this should take all in, shouldn't it? Column called "Dividends" directly under the chart shows amount that does not match "All income" as described below.

On the same screen below there is a section called "All income" Gross Dividends column in that section shows correct amount of dividends paid (matches my existing software)

I will be happy to e-mail you screen shots if needed. Just want to understand where the discrepancy comes from.

BTW, I have entered few more holdings and for those the two columns match to a cent.
