Holdings Reports

Is there any reason why it is not possible to print off a list of holdings at the end of the month. It seems to be the only report that is not available. Norm

  • Hi Norwen,

Thanks for your post. Typically, clients use their portfolio as their 'living & breathing' list. The reason for this is that it is possible to log-in whenever you wish and you can run all your pages and report on the fly.

Nonetheless, it is possible to print a physical list of course! To do so go to the overview page and select all your holdings by clicking the Control key + the letter 's' key. Once you've done this you can paste it into a word or Excel document for printing.

    Have a nice day!

    Cheers,

    Emma

  • Thanks Emma - I also use Sharesight to help me maintain a consolidated file using excel that includes everything in the portfolio including cash accounts at the end of each month. . The Xero system is really designed for business not an SMSF. I used to used Stockmarket plus and still use Quicken Personal Plus - it is possible to print of a holding list in both those systems for a specific date. I am aware that Sharesight can provide you with a print out of holdings but that is only on the day of the printing and not a historical date. Cheers Norm

  • You can use the performance report to produce a market value report and list of holdings at any date you wish.

I use Shaersight and Xero for my SMSF. I actually believe that Xero works very well for SMSFs -- it's far more powerful than the other systems you mention. It can be configured for just about any business or entity you wish as it is a fully functional accounting system.

Happy to answer questions about using Xero

  • Thanks Andrew - I had not picked up the ability to set a custom date for the performance report.

On the use of Xero - I have been using Quicken Personal Plus now for over 20 years and it provides me with a very good record of spending over a year and income over the year including an ability to manage cash spending by using separate accounts (wallets) for my wife and myself to manage how we use our cash. I am very comfortable with that arrangement bu happy to talk about how Zero could fill that space. Cheers Norm

  • Thanks Emma - I believe I have already used up my free 30 day trial although on first look it did not seem to meet my needs and I did not have the time to spend too much time on working through it at the time. Norm
    • Hi Norm,

Thanks for your post. If you wish to downgrade back to the free plan you can do so by going into your Account Settings > Plans & Billing > Change plan > Downgrade back to free.

Please note you will lose functionality when downgrading, such as reporting on open + closed positions, having more than 1 portfolio, Diversity report and more. Should you ever wish to upgrade again, you can do so by following the above-mentioned steps but choosing 'Upgrade' instead.

      Have a lovely day!

      Cheers,

      Emma
