How do I show my AUD shares in AUD dollars and my NZ shares in NZ $. The program seems to automatically convert AUD share values to NZD

  • Hi David,

Unfortunately, it's not optional currently to have multi-currencies in Sharesight.

As your base currency (the currency we use to generate all reports) is NZD, all transactions will be converted into NZD. This is mainly for tax purpose, because the spot rate of the transaction day is used for tax, rather than the rate of the day you actually convert AUD cash into NZD.

We have, however, noticed the interest in multi-currencies in some clients like you. So we are considering adding this feature. Please stay tuned for announcement on this platform.

  • Hello,

Just bumping this question, as I have just joined Sharesight, and whilst my SMSF is domiciled in Australia, about half of its investments are in US Dollars and the account sits with a US Broker, and it appears that ability to have portfolios in different currencies has not yet been integrated.

Can someone please confirm that weather or not it is possible to have different currencies for different portfolios. This is a deal breaker for me.

    Many Thanks

    Jason
