I’m Frustrated Again

Questions about Sharesight service and system

I have a question, what do other users of this product think of the support?
I only ask as I need some help, am unable to find a phone number where I can contact any support (real person) and I have been trying to contact my account manager (we had emailed once and was going to phone me a few days ago) I have rang and left messages - hell even sent more email but unable to get a call back.
The portfolio which my trading conformations are going to is the wrong one, don't know how to change. I also need to know how to transfer a group of holdings from one portfolio to the other?. I need to work out how I can have long holdings and short trading holdings split as well.
Unable to finish Tax Return because of these questions
Thanks

  • Hi Garnet,

My colleague Josh will give you a call today to discuss further.

Generally, we make available Account Managers and phone support to clients on Sharesight Pro. We invite our clients on the Investor and Expert plans to contact us via the Help menu inside Sharesight - either by sending an email to our Client Services Team directly or by posting publicly on this forum.

I can provide some more info about your specific questions in the meantime:

    1) To change the destination portfolio of your trades, you'll want to modify how you've setup the Broker Email Import feature. This entails editing the email address that we assign to your portfolio and then adding this to your broker's email notifications.

More on this can be found here: http://help.sharesight.com.au/importi...

    2) Unfortunately, there's no may to transfer holdings en masse from one entity to another. This gets quite messy when dealing with historical transactions. We typically advise clients to 1) export their historical transactions by using the All Trades Report and 2) importing this into another portfolio using the CSV import feature. Often it's just as easy to create a new portfolio and start again.

More on importing can be found here: http://help.sharesight.com.au/import_...

    3) Sharesight does not support short positions at this time.

Hi Doug, I understand this and originally was trialing Pro to sign up, however I don't have enough portfolios and had been contacted by Josh about that.
I had to recreate my account and the original portfolio brought across by Josh.
As some time had passed and I had done a bit of trading I imported an up to date portfolio thinking I would be able to just delete all of the transactions from first one as one lot.
I came to Sharesight on the recommendation of my accountant, and looks like it will do what I need. When I say short i just mean buying and selling shares in general, as i do quite a lot.
I will have shares subject to CGT and some which will not my question for Josh was going to be,
If I have two portfolios with the conformations turned on to both, as long as I don't have 2 of the same holdings in either portfolio the conformations would still track to the correct one?
Thanks for the tip with email address.
