Questions: Cash Balances/KiwiSaver/Missing Funds

I've just started using Sharesight - great product, a really nice way to start seeing everything in one place with great insights. Had been looking for something like this for a while. Just a few questions:

1) Is it possible to include cash balances? So sync in bank accounts - similar to how ANZ Money Manager used to work before it was discontinued, basically pulling in a feed of account balances.

2) Can KiwiSaver contributions be synced in? Obviously you can add the fund - but since every month money is added into Kiwisaver it would be a very manual process to have to keep on updating this but would be nice to see all in the same place.

3) What about funds that are missing? How do you request these are added? For example PIE Fund's new UK/Europe fund is missing, Salt Funds have multiple funds but only the Long Short fund in Sharesight etc.

Thanks!

    Hi Timothy,

Thanks for your post and your feedback! I've listed my answers to your questions for you below.

    1. There are two ways to track cash in Sharesight, one option is via Xero and the other using Sharesight its custom investment feature. The Xero option allows for bank account integration, the Sharesight feature does not. More information about this here: http://help.sharesight.com.au/setting... Tracking cash using Sharesight: http://help.sharesight.com.au/trackin...

    2. KiwiSaver can be added via one of the options mentioned in point 1.

    3. Please list the funds that are missing in an answer below and I'll see if I can add them to the database for you. If not, you can track them manually via the custom investment feature.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!

    Cheers,

    Emma

  • Hi Emma,

    Thanks for your response.

Re question 1 I was thinking more if you were able to leverage a product like https://www.yodlee.com to automatically pull in bank account information - and then it would be pretty easy to parse interest payments vs deposit, and withdrawals. That way you wouldn't need to manually keep track of your savings. I understand what you're saying re Xero, but most casual investors won't be using Xero.

Re question 2 - how does this help keep track of the extra amount you are saving in KiwiSaver every month without having to manually update? Sorry if I'm missing something here?

    3. Great! https://www.piefunds.co.nz/our-funds/... and https://www.saltfunds.co.nz/salt-inve... (dividend appreciation fund)

    Thanks,
    Tim

  • Hi Tim,

Thanks for your message. We offer only the Xero or Sharesight solution at this time, we do not support Yodlee. However, you can connect your KiwiSaver account to your Xero account and then import the Xero cash account back into Sharesight if you wish.

Alternatively, you can track your Kiwisaver as a fixed interest item in Sharesight. How this can be done is explained here: http://help.sharesight.com.au/trackin...

Concerning your pie funds, I could not add them to the database, unfortunately! The funds can be tracked manually via the custom investment feature in Sharesight. More information about this feature here: http://help.sharesight.com.au/unquote...

Please let me know if you have further questions, Tim.

    Have a lovely day!

    Cheers,

    Emma
