  • Hi Taylor,

We do support selfwealth contract notes. You can see our full list of supported contract notes here:
    https://help.sharesight.com/supported...

More information on our broker email import function can be found here:

    • Hi Ben

The forwarding contact notes is a decent alternative. However is it possible to access the emails that are sent to our personal Contact Notes Inbox?

The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to set up an auto-forward rule from GMail to send these Contact Notes emails I receive directly to our personal CN inbox. Gmail requires a verification code in order to auto-forward.

      Any suggestions?

  • Hi hwong103,

    Yes there is a way.

After you have added your broker email import address from Sharesight and are prompted for the verification code you need to do the following:

    1. Visit your broker email import settings within your Sharesight portfolio. Select 'View Contract Notes Inbox' as indicated below:

    2. You should see a single entry at least with a subject containing the words 'Forwarding Confirmation'

    3. Click on the subject link

    4. On the popup that displays, select 'Show raw email body'

    5. Near the top of the raw email body, you will see the words:

'please click the link below to confirm the request:'

Copy the text starting https:// and paste into your browser.

    6. Click the confirm button on the page that renders.

It's a bit of a muddle to set this up, so please just post an update here if you can't follow these steps and I'll add a few more screenshots etc.

  • Hey Ben

Yea I've tried that but it doesn't seem to show up in the Inbox for whatever reason. I've done a couple of things to test the forwarding confirmation process

    1) Sent a blank email with the subject Test from my personal email address - which shows up in the CN Inbox
    2) Sent the forwarding confirmation to another email account I have and immediately received an email subject line "(#383045654) Gmail Forwarding Confirmation - Receive Emails from ..."

Maybe the CN inbox is filtering this email out?

  • That's odd, it shouldn't be blocked as I could do it myself. I'll run through the full process now with a dummy portfolio.

Step one: Enable Broker Email import in Sharesight

Step two: Add a forwarding address in your Gmail account under settings > Forwarding

Step three: Select Proceed on the popup that displays

Step four: Wait a couple of minutes and then hit refresh on your browser tab with Sharesight open

Step five: Return to your broker import tab in Sharesight and select 'View Contract Notes Inbox'

Step six: Click on the subject line of the email message displayed:

Step seven: Select Show raw body

Step eight: Copy the link beneath the words 'please click the link below to confirm the request' and paste into a new browser tab

That all works ok for me. Lets hope this helps!

  • Hey Ben,

Ok very odd. I've done the exact same thing as your screenshots above and I'm definitely not getting any of those emails in the CN Inbox.

I've just done another test by sending a confirmation email from a separate GMail account which doesn't appear.

I removed the address from my main account and tried to add it again.

I've sent another test email from my main account as you can see in my screenshots below.

Perhaps it's specific to my CN Inbox account?

    Edit:
Because I have Email Notifications turned on I also received the email telling me that the test email didn't work. I haven't received any notifications (failure or success) about the confirmation emails

  • Hi hwong103,

I've been able to re-create the same issue you are experiencing by using my own personal address, rather than our Sharesight company address.

We might block emails from un-trusted sources somewhere along the way.

I'll need to investigate the issue further with the team and come back to this post, hopefully early next week.

Sorry for the back and forth.

  • Hi hwong103,

Your broker email address should now be verified.

We performed a manual fix for your account, but we will look to implement a fix across the board next week.

FYI, I was able to verify my gmail address as Ben outlined. I'm using a custom domain and GSuite.

It would be awesome if could please integrate SelfWealth! Being the cheapest CHESS sponsored broker around, I'm surprised they're not already on your list of supported brokers.

  • As noted in this topic, Sharesight supports Selfwealth contract notes via our broker email import function. More information about this function can be found here:
    https://help.sharesight.com/contract_...

Sharesight additionally has an open API enabling all brokers to offer their clients the ability to transport their trading data to Sharesight in a seamless, secure and highly reliable manner. We have reached out to Selfwealth to see if there are interested in joining the growing number of brokers that support this initiative. Their response is that "At the moment we’ve prioritised a few other projects ahead of this. We’ll be revisiting it later this year."

As a Selfwealth client, you may wish to get in touch with them so that they are aware of the demand for this service. We are looking forward to working with Selfwealth whenever they are in a position to do so.
