Pop-up Video from a URL

You have an overlay feature for videos, for example:
[youtube overlay=true]

This will post a small box, basically a button, that once clicked will open a large window in-front of your page and allow the user to play the video.

I like this feature a lot as it doesn't take the user off the site, allowing them to watch the video, then go back to browsing the sight.

Now...my question!

How can create the same effect, but this time, only using a url link, like so:
[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvEkQg... target=_blank]
Galv will be ecstatic

I enjoy posting new updates, information, things about the guild, the game, etc...etc...and sometimes placing funny links to videos that are relevant to the topic at hand; however, I'd like the person to be able to click the link, view the video, then close the box and go back to reading.

I understand that I can use the target=_blank, but again, that takes them off-page.

Any help with some code?

Hi Duncan,

Ah unfortunately that is not possible at the moment; we may be able to expend this to generic urls tho so I've changed this to an idea and we'll take a look at it soon.
