How do I save my drawing on Sketchbook Mobile Express?

I have been drawing a sketch for a while, and I can't find an 'export' or 'save' button anywhere. It may be a basic question, but can it be answered?

If you are using Android versions:

On express version, you can export your pictures by following these steps:
1, press “menu” button on your device.
2, on the menu slide from bottom, press “New”
3, Press “Export”.
Then, it will tell you where your sketch been exported.

On Mobile version, when you every time exit sketchbook mobile, you can save your sketch.
And, that means, your art will be saved at internal gallery of sketchbook mobile.
You can visit it by press “Menu” button of Android system, and click “Gallery” button.
In the sketchbook gallery, you can export your art to your SD card by Export button.
Then, it will telling you which path your art is exported.

When I do this, I run into this complication:

The file is saved as a .tiff, which the application (which created it) says it cannot open. The only image it will open is the thumbnail, which is obviously not what I need.

Is the menu button the little circle at the bottom?
It would be easier if you had a site that explained what each icon does AND how to use it.
I like this app very much. I would use it more if I knew what I was doing.

Sketchbook saves everything as a .tiff file to the "Gallery."

You need to select the menu/extra features button at the bottom of your screen (looks like a few horizontal lines).

Then select "Gallery." You should see your photos there.

Touch the photo you want, and then the "Export" button.

Select what you want to do, (for instance "Export .jpg" - which saves the file to your device, or "Share .jpg" - which allows you to email the file).

Note where the file is being saved, so that you can find it and move it later.

I found that even in the Gallery there is no way to Save any pictures. Judging from the review of the app in the Windows 8 store, many other people have the same issue. The guide also says to Save drawings from the Gallery, but there just isn't any way of doing it.

I would take a screenshot to "save" any drawings you're attached to , and then install some software that allows you to really save your work.

I should clarify regarding the "Gallery." The *.tiff file is actually saved in the Sketchbook file folder with a unique ID number. It can be viewed using "Gallery," but would need to be exported as a .jpg (or other) in order for it to be used in another format..

To me if i can't export it as a jpeg,  the program is completely useless to me. I managed to get them into the cloud but can not use them on the pc.

Has anyone used this with the HTC Evo 4G LTE? When I save my files, it shows that it saves to the internal storage card, but will not save to my external SD card. I cannot access the internal storage card from my PC. Is there any way to change where it stores? Does the paid version (Sketchbook Mobile) resolve this?

Hi, after you change your device to "disk drive" mode, you can visit the folder which your image exported.

You keep repeating the same advice but it does not work. Ok i can see where it exported the file but i still have no way of accessing it. I do not have a gallery on my tablet only a dropbox and tje app does not allow you to store anywhere you like. As far as i am concerned, its a rip-off

John, have you looked at the manual for your version of the software? In case you or anyone needs a link to all the manuals: http://blog.sketchbook.com/documentation

Additional question: I have sketchbook pro on iPad and need to export the image I made in high resolution tiff so it can be used by the printer. I made it using the highest resolution 2500 * 2500. But don't see any export options. The extra menu key described as "few lines at the bottom of the page", I don't have on the iPad?
Need urgent help as my client needs the image ASAP.
Thanks in advance

Autodesk dropped the ball on this issue!

I made a project and was saving to iCloud. Therefore, the sketch 'export' button was not enabled. I figured out i needed to download my project from iCloud to export it.

Simple fix Autodesk: enable the export button, then have a screen that says "to export, first download from iCloud".

This was very frustrating for an otherwise intuitive and awesome $4.99 app.

i have the full version and there is still NO save feature. ironically many software processes are at odds with 'designers' - the coders are always feeling insecure around the talent - and vice versa. I've been a big brand Project Manager - I've had to sort this Gordian Knot for years. The only way around it - is THRU it. Programmers design like shyte. Case in point, The Nic! --> www.internic.org ( still ugly after 12 years)

When you save while in the app they are saved to the sketch gallery. Save them outside of sketchbook, open SB gallery tap a pic to highlight it then tap the daisy with the right arrow (export or share icon) to save it to your note gallery or whatever other choice you have like email.

Oh, I believe you have to have a paid version of SB in order to get these features.

Hello!
I'm using a Genesis tablet with Android 4.0 system and the only way I could save my drawing was by taking a screenshot using the function available on the system toolbar. As I have the free version of Sketchbook, there's no export option available. The image then can be found in the pictures folder in the file manager and can be copied to a SD card or USB drive.

I had a lot of problems at first, too. I use an ASUS Transformer Tablet, and here's what I discovered:

Then select "Gallery." You should see your photos there.

In case someone with the free version for Android is confused, as of this writing, your picture can be saved by pressing the back key and choosing save and exit. Using the home key will not save the picture. And you can export it to your SD card by pressing the menu key, pressing new, and choosing export. I don't know how different it is on the iphone or ipad, and I don't know how it is on the paid version (probably the same or even easier, though).
