hi Charlotte:
I don't really understand what you mean by "never came back".
- did you ever see the sketch thumbnail on the Gallery (with an overlaid iCloud icon)?
- do you have/see any other iCloud saved sketches on the Gallery?
- how many iCloud sketches do you have? If you could open the iCloud settings panel, then select Storage and Backup > Manage Storage > SketchBook Pro for iPad.
How many sketches do you see there? Do you see the same number of sketches as on the Gallery? This is very important.

I'm sorry but this happened to me twice.
After making the drawing and save it to the gallery, it disappears.
Its nowhere...
Its unacceptable as a pro tool.

Sorry to hear this but I need more help to try to reproduce the problem and fix it.
It might be a SketchBook bug or it might be an iCloud bug.

1) what SketchBook version are you running?
2) iOS version and device?
3) Could you please describe your workflow and if you were saving with or without an internet connection? was it a new sketch or a previously saved one?
Thanks for your feedback.

This happened to me also! I was working on a drawing on my iPhone on Autodesk Sketchbook Mobile, version 2.2 on the latest version of IOS 5. I tapped on "Gallery," then tapped the "Save" option when it came up, but when the program brought me to the gallery, the drawing that I had just worked hard on was nowhere to be found. It's not in the gallery, it's not in my photo library...it seems to have vanished? That being said, I tapped "save," so perhaps the drawing is stored SOMEWHERE?

I was saving WITH an internet connection, and this was a new sketch.

Please...help me. Because this really sucks. Is there any way to get my drawing back?

Same here. After tapping the upload to iCloud button the drawing is found nowhere. No cloud icon or anything. Just gone.

Same here. Just spent the last hour and a half coloring a comic in Sketchbook Pro under iOS 5.1, hit save, and now it's as if I never even colored it. The drawing reverted back to its uncolored state (the last save point).

I have the same problem. No SketchBook Pro shows up when I look at "manage storage". No sketches in my gallery with iCloud symbols.

But thinking about it I realized that I'm using two accounts. The account I used to buy the product with is not the same that I'm currently using for iCloud. Could this be the problem?

I have probably the same problem. The latest version of Sketchbook Pro for the iPad2, all my iCloud backed up drawings vanished. They still appear in the iCloud backup data set (but I can't figure out any way to download the files from iCloud) and they don't show up at all in Sketchbook Pro for the iPad. I just purchased the latest version of Sketchbook Pro for OSX Lion and when I try to open an iCloud file, there are not files in iCloud :(

Yeah this has happend to me too. Not a happy customer.
Spent ages working on Drawings for a big project & interview and all of the images are completely gone.
1) SketchBook version : the one before 2.8
2) iOS version and device: Ipad2
3) Saving with a internet connection, was it a new sketch or a previously saved one? Both types

By the way, I got my issue resolved on another thread--it turned out that my employers mandatory app "MobileIron", which installs security certificates and maintains apps/traffic on the device was getting in the way of iCloud and kept things from working.

So, just FYI if any of you have an app like MobileIron, that's the problem--those iOS management apps kill the ability to store things (or sometimes retrieve them) in iCloud.

I ended up deciding that it wasn't worth having a company approved iPad and only left MobileIron on my company owned phone.
