Problems with Rapidshare blocking the use of the skipscreen

Rapidshare seems like to have find a way to block skip screen. It was fine until saturday. Every time I tried skipscreen, the site shows a message about an error in Javascript.

I get the javascript question but i beat it by turning off the post download page. but sadly another one takes it's place. the timer appears afterwards and indicates it will try to get the file. It keeps getting the file even after it;s downloaded it. this presents 2 issues. First and foremost, isn't the point of this to beat the timer? Second If i left the machine unattended it would leave the desktop rather cluttered with copies. If you can do something about the java problem i can avoid the unchecked post download infinity loop. but feel free to work on that as well if you like. i think the main issue is the timer that for the intent of this plugin not be present. also it seems to think i still have a download going when i don't so i get the "rapidshare is making you wait" page

and when the page does show up to download i get a 90 second timer in my firefox tab with no timer on the screen but the download now page. So i try to click it manually since the this second timer is new to me and not anything from rapidshare, but clicking the download now button as i usually did before now yields the java error again. so please disregard my statement about actually bypassing the issue. I'm making this reply to the issue while trying to use it. but waiting for the secondary 90 second timer does start the download. odd. so there are quite a few shortcomings but i am glad to see the effort and hope the maintenance of this plugin doesnt tax you fellahs too much.

So, you're not clicking "download" but you're still getting the "must enable javascript" error?

Do you have JavaScript enabled in your browser? What happens when you try to download from RapidShare with SkipScreen disabled for RS?

Do you have NoScript installed? If so, have you whitelisted RapidShare?

i do not get the javascript error when i do not click download now. I only clicked it cause the download now page is loaded but the dl had not auto started. turns out this takes roughly a minute then the download starts without my interference. I left several rapidshare tabs open last night, as i went to bed, they all had the timer on the firefox tabs and i was just curious to see what would happen. over the course of the night it eventually downloaded each one at a time. and i do have javascript as i was a longtime rapidshare user beforehand. i never heard of noscript so i dont have that, and i dont know what whitelisting is. I only heard of and installed your program on the night i commented.

now when i try to open a single page i get the "download now" button but i dont click it, after what seems like the regular duration of the timer, it auto-starts the download. it still doesnt beat the issue of not beating the timer but i can queue up a bunch of downloads that i can leave the pc and still get so thats better then i had before. in regards to turning rapishare off in the settings i get the timer visible as usual. so what this program is doing in essence is just hiding the timer and autostarting the download where as before installing i just had to watch the timer countdown and manually click download now to get the file. so slightly less babysitting and i get queuing but not the timer free i was led to beleive. still a nice improvement than without it so I thank you so far.

this happened to me too when i was using ie7. switching over to ie6 or upgrading to ie8 didn't help either.

i think the problem is in the windows system using ie/js engine to display every file / metadata / hypertext. i circumvented this problem by switching over to firefox with embedded ie engine using coral ie tab.

but we don't need the ie tab at all with firefox handling the page without any errors.

but skipscreen still has to work on many sites like sharingmatrix, *.to etc.

Mine does one countdown and then no more countdowns unless I refresh the entire page. What would cause this?

That's an interesting question. There are all sorts of things that could cause it. Howevere, I do not know any of the details. Please see how to report a SkipScreen bug.

Definitely a screenshot or transcript of the page would help.

I haven't seen this, although I have NoScript enabled -- presumably if you allow javascript once on Rapidshare, it shouldn't occur again. Actually, as a newbie SkipScreen (Firefox add-on) user, I have seen downloads occur FASTER than before -- the 15 minute timer seems to be either eliminated or reduced.

I still have that problem, I have Java installed till update 20, and issue persists, still get the "Please check if your browser supports Javascript" error mssg...I didn't uninstall skipscreen, but I assume it'll work if uninstalled, as download link works on another browser rather tahn Firefox

thing is, I'd like to use skipscreen in order not to wait for the timer lol

Java is not JavaScript.

Do you have NoScipt installed? You need to whitelist all sites that you use with SkipScreen

Yeah, as of October 2010, RapidShare has totally redesigned their site,
and SkipScreen doesn't work on it at all (using version 0.5.10bs).
Not that this is news, but I thought I'd just chime in.

My Skipscreen doesn't even turn on when I get to Rapidshare. I checked to make sure it was checked on the select screen in options.

I'm finding that even if you are logged in using a premium account skipscreen defaults to the free link. I've had to disable it so I can use the premium link.

My Skipscreen also doesn't turn on when I get to Rapidshare. I checked to make sure it was checked on the select screen in options.
The timer simply countdowns, then I get the error "ip address modified".

Today I noticed that each RS download link now redirects to a url where rapidshare.com is preceded by numbers like "rs475tl2", thereby bypassing both Skipscreen and RapidShare AutoWait. And I'm back to the usual hair-pulling frustration with RS :/

Yeah, RapidShare doesn't seem to work any more. SkipScreen doesn't even recognize it. Can a developer acknowledge that this is being worked on? Or at least that this is a problem?
