Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew of an ipad app that combines sight words with their ASL sign? Ideally starting with beginner's words. (like Dolch) Looking to use this for my non-verbal daughter at school. Thanks in advance!

CD/DVD called American Sign Language: Clip and Create. It is a VERY old program but you could probably find it on Amazon. I used this so very very often. Basically, I put the disc in the computer's tray. When Explorer comes up, I have to open up each "letter". So if I wanted the word "please", I would have to open the "p" folder. They have "please" w/ the word & sign or just the sign. I right click, copy and past into an open Word document. I would make sentences that way for my child. I can send you samples if you want to give me your email address.

You might use these jpegs to insert into a program like Educreations Interactive or others (again, I have suggestions, I can email them to you). I'm kbwelker@yahoo.com. Hope this helps!

Here's my list of ASL apps: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/c... (Be sure to check back periodically because it will hopefully be updated with new apps soon)

I would have to say my favorite one is My Smart Hands because the videos are really nice, the signer describes how to make the signs and there's a
Quiz mode to make sure you're on track.

Most of the apps I posted show a card with the word & image of the object, then you tap it, and on the other side is the image of a lady (or cartoon baby) signing the word (with explanation)/with the word, and a button to play a video clip of the lady saying the word and signing it. My son's favorites are the in app signing songs. (signing time)

Hi Becky,

I have created Dolch sight words using ASL videos. Currently, I have 3 videos. Pre-primer, primer and 1st grade. The beginner videos would be the pre-primer and primer. The videos are for sale on Facebook at Signs of Language or by clicking one of the links below.

Pre-Primer: http://sellfy.com/p/v2na $11.99
Primer: http://sellfy.com/p/niHE $12.99

I may be reached via email at: signsoflanguage@aol.com or on Twitter and Facebook at Signs of Language.

Hope I have helped!
