Select which test results to display in public profile

Right now, a badge shows for all tests taken. I would like to be able to feature tests and also hide tests from public view. Possibly grouping tests would be a good idea, too, as the number of tests grows out of hand.

  • Hi Martin,

This is something we're giving a lot of thought to right now. While we want to maintain the integrity of our scoring system, we also want Users to be comfortable with their Smarterer profiles.

As we have a lot of test content, the number of badges can stack up, and our Users may end up with scores they aren't proud of (due to a low score, or discomfort about their Twilight Series Trivia score showing up next to their HTML5 skills as seen by a potential employer.)

While the details are still being worked out, we would like to give Users more control over which scores are visible directly on their profile, and provide some option for "publishing" a subset of scores (on a special URL, or as an embeddable link, possibly including scores that aren't normally "public").

We don't have an ETA as we're still discussing the possibilities, but we're definitely moving towards something along these lines.

    Thanks,

    - Dave

  • This is absolutely ridiculous. A Google search of my name shows my scores, some for tests I just took on a whim. After 7 months, you haven't figured out a way to make accounts private? I am closing my account post-haste.

  • Hi Sonia,

Sorry for the confusion; We implemented this feature earlier this year, but it looks like we never updated this post.

Any score can be removed from public view using the "Privacy Settings" link above each set of badges on your Profile page.

    Thanks,

    - Dave
