I’m frustrated

Cannot create jobs with certain locations - Hong Kong, Singapore, etc

Eg. Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau.

These city names come up in your predefined list.
However when you choose any of them they are NOT accepted, returning a "City missing" and will not let you continue with the post. You can add the Country name, eg. Singapore, Singapore; Hong Kong, China/ Macau, China and it still returns the same error. Or You can add Hong Kong, SAR (Special Administrative Region of China) and still the same error.

Hey guys, seems like you have not had ANY jobs listed in those locations. What's up?

Hi Modris, thanks for the feedback. The location widget that is used there (the auto-fill suggestions that you see showing up) is actually taken straight from Google. We will look into it as to why in these cases it does not pick up the right locations.

For Hong Kong, this was reported earlier here: http://getsatisfaction.com/smartrecru...

I tested Singapore and Macau and once you get the "missing city" error if you then enter it again, as in this example below, you should be able to proceed and post that job:

Please take a look and let me know if that does it. We will look deeper into this in the meantime.

  • I reenter Singapore and it still will NOT accept the post from me or let me get past this page

Looks like the location widget cannot properly recognize Hong Kong - when entering the location the auto-fill suggestion does show up properly:

When attempting to proceed however an error message gets you stuck:

    Hello!

I'm trying to post jobs in different cities, too. I get no auto-complete for Qingdao, China but it's accepted by the form.
After saving it shows Qingdao, China in the detailed view here http://www.smartrecruiters.com/ChinaG...

However the list overview still shows Shanghai here http://cngoldengate.com/page26.html

    Please advise. Thank you!

Hi I'm trying to post a job in Berlin, Germany (based in UK). Even though Berlin, Germany appear in the drop down, I still get the error "missing state". It just won't let me post the job. It seems you are having this problem outside of the USA. Why not disable the field requirement and allow people to enter it manually until you figure of the problem otherwise this will be a big problem with international recruiters.

BTW. I am using Google Chrome.

  • Same issue here but on top of it not recognizing the correct city, country after saving it also saves strange combinations. For example, the location is supposed to be 'Belgrade, Serbia' but in the ATS is defaults to 'Belgrade, United States' and on Indeed it's displaying as 'Belgrade, Montana'!!
