The inspector for our home purchase contract raised the question of whether the solar panels should have been installed by penetrating a membrane roof, as opposed to by attaching a framework to the roof borders (it's a row house). Since it's a holiday weekend, we haven't gotten any response to our questions yet from the installers.

Can anyone offer an informed opinion? We'd be very grateful for any guidance.

Penetrating a roof is common practise and if done correctly should not result in prolems.
