Windows 7 In-task bar menu!
My Songbird is constantly open, and it will be amazingly comfortable to control it throe the said task bar, and probably not much of a programing challenge.

Looks good, I'd probably change a few things though, and rearrange it like:
[frequent items]
Keep them as is...

[Tasks]
- Stop/Play (change the name and icon dynamically to match the behavior)
- Next Track
- Previous Track
- Switch to MiniPlayer / Switch to Full Player (change dynamically).

Changing the volume from the Jump menu probably wouldn't work too well. Can hardly wait. Now if only they'd fix the problem with songs getting clipped near the end...

I would really like the ability to rate a track directly from this menu. Often I listen to a new album and add ratings while I'm doing something else, so it's nice to keep these interruptions as effortless as possible.

I wonder if you could make the current playing album art appear, with sexy little control along the bottom?

Great that people are working on this! :D

You could check out the Windows API Code pack
http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Window...

This is mostly for managed code (C# or VB), however the source is available and it might provide some insight as to how to add buttons to the thumbnail preview etc (about two lines in C#).

I'm not sure how to do aero snap with non-native windows such as songbird's, or even if it is possible through an addon (I am not a C++ or XUL developer - though i have seen something similar put together for something else), however this would certainly be nice!

I'd also like to put in a request for the ability to watch a windows 7 library (I saw this in a different thread, but just to make sure we get it!). I believe this is also capable through the windows API code pack.

Of course, everybody is going to have their own opinion about the integration with windows 7, and I wish all those involved the best of luck with keeping everybody happy!

To summarise what is available in the Windows API code pack,
* Taskbar thumbnail buttons such as those on WMP
* Taskbar progress bars (like those on the new explorer file copy dialog)
* Library support
* Tabs previewed on the thumbnail (like how IE8 does it)

Mozilla is working on Jump List for Firefox 3.6 (Gecko 1.9.2)
If Songbird update to Gecko 1.9.2, this feature will be easy to do :)

iTunes can have it, Winamp can have it, WMP has it
Could Songbird also get Jump List support for Windows 7?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Jump List support in Windows7.

oh right, well I was working on this feature using WinFox code source, but since Firefox 3.6 (Gecko/XULRunner 1.9.2) have this ability, I'm waiting for Songbird to use this new base.

Last I heard, Palant was waiting for Firefox 3.6 to go final before adding it (because Firefox is releasing beta's every week apparently). So I think the 3.6 codebase will be added to the next official release after 1.4/Korn/Kanye :D

I can't wait for this. It would be cool if the playlist would be in the jumplist.

Attn people who are working on JumpList support-
that would be better than nothing, but I think what we all want is support of the buttons in the aero peek popup. Microsoft has posted an API to do this, and it's been linked to in other comments

Is there any progress on this issue? We already got Firefox 6 and since two years, there is still no progress it seems? Actually I was looking for a toolbar integration like with iTunes, but at least Jumplists like for WinAmp and WMP should be there!
But it seems that is not the case?? Or do I need to activate it in some setting?

It may be implemented in Nightingale once it's based off Gecko 6
