Hi Songbird team.
First of all, let me say that Songbird is propably the best program I installed this year, it really rocks galore.
Now, exited about the features in the new release, I tried exporting my Songbird library to iTunes.
When I exit Songbird, i find the songbirditunesagent.exe in my processes, but as soon as I open iTunes, the agent crashes. This bug is reproducable.

My %AppData%/Songbird2/ folder contains 3 .task files and a itunesexporterrors.txt reading "ERROR: Failed to initialize the library source object".

I use
* Songbird 1.2.0
* Tunes 8.2.0.23.
* Win XP SP3

Any help on this would be really appreciated, since I really want to break free from iTunes (as far as I can, seeing that I own an iPod Touch).

Thanks in advance,
Jörn

Hiya,

Thanks for the report and for your support! Your best bet on this is to file a bug here: http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/ If you have one of your crash ID's from any of the crashes it would be great to include that. Also please remember to always submit your crash reports.

Hi Laura,
thanks a lot for your time and support. I headed over to BugZilla and found a ticket which describes the same bug that I experience. I will make sure to post all information I can find there.
Thanks a lot!

My pleasure. Can you post the bug # back here for other users to reference please? I did a quick search in Bugzilla before I replied initially and I didn't find one I thought matched up. Many thanks!

Hi. I think this bug here suits my needs best: http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...
It's almost exactly the behaviour I've been experiencing, down to the contents of the itunesexporterrors.txt
Regards,
Jörn

Each time I open iTunes (without Songbird running), I get an error message stating that the songbirditunesagent.exe has stopped working. Can anyone tell me why this happens and what to do to fix it?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled

I've found that if I open iTunes first, then manually start songbirditunesagent.exe by double-clicking on it (located in C:\Program Files\Songbird) it will import my tracks from Songbird. This obviously doesn't fix the problem but at least it lets me sync my libraries.
