Hello,
The Big Bang software is not officially supported on a Windows 10 operating system. This may be part of your issue. Please review the supported operating system here - http://sonivoxmi.com/products/details....-
How soon is Windows 10 support going to be implemented? There's nothing in your System Requirements that specifically says, "Do Not Use on Windows 10."
BTW, I'm trying to use it in Cakewalk SONAR Platinum as a 64-bit VST. -

This is true here on a Mac.
Ever since purchased and remains an issue.
Try looking at Pace (Sonivox)
"When use mouse click on the Big Bang Percussion UI seems no problem, sound play well, but hit my midi keyboard will crash. " -
-
You has un latency problem. The latency has than be less to 5 ms. The driver has that be ASIO and set to 96 Kbytes. If you not has a "Sound box", down the ASIO free: ASIO4ALL of Native Instruments. Excuse me for my english, I am from Argentina.

I'm trying out the Big Bang Cinematic trial on Max OSX 10.12 As soon as I hit a midi kbd Big Bang crashed Logic twice.. I saved the crash report if you want..
Third Logic boot up it, worked fine.. Don't know what I did different.. -
-
Sonivox support was useless.
Same issue....blamed the operating system.
Does not bode well for future purchases from the Sonivox team -
-
Same problem here,
Mac OSX 10.12.1 with Ableton 9.7.
Please somebody from Sonivox team give us an update!
Thanks

Thanks for your reply,
but let me just clarify that this is NOT a feature request like a new function or button, this is about making your product actually usable for today's Mac users!
So please let us know at least approximately when your team is going to release an update: one month, six months, whatever...
Best regards

Same problem with midi keyboard input causing a crash.
Can replicate a crash in Logic pro 9 and Tracktion 5
Also IRC section is unselectable unless you first click sound pads with mouse.
Try a keyboard input and it's all over.
Running OSX 10.8 on a late 2011 Macbook Pro 2.4 GHZ i7 with 4GB Ram.
Sent off a support request.- view 12 more comments

So far the response rate has been poor. I doubt I'll be purchasing or recommending Sonivox products to others in the future.

Just posted my review - hoping it gets a response.

As I already wrote,
it would be nice if somebody from Sonivox would give us please a generic time frame for a fix.
When are you going to make the plugin compatible with macOS 10.12?
The first message dates back to 8 months, isn't time to finally update it?
Are you still supporting this product actually?
Because it looks like you don't!
I understand that macOS Sierra is just 2 months old, but Windows10 has been around for 16 months, why there is still no compatibility?
So please be honest and give us something! -

Hi Bill, since there is still no update from Sonivox can you tell me who is in charge for solving this kind of problem? Is it up to inmusic to fix the issue or sonivox? Please give me a name to write to, there was a big marketing campaign from sonivox to sell BigBang in December but I find it very disappointing that they don't support this product!
Thanks -

Thanks Bill,
I am happy that now you call this "bug" and not "feature request" anymore!
Apologies more than accepted for me, but please tell the developer team that they have to put deadlines like in every job, at least a time frame.
Customers are happier when they know that the problem will be fixed in x amount of time... -

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Big Bang CP crashes Logic Pro X.

I recently installed Big Bang Cinematic Percussion and discovered this problem. I am on Windows 10 Pro x64 and use Sonar x64 as my DAW.
Message "SONARPLT.exe has stopped working"
Exception Code, Value=c0000005
Fault Module Name, Value=BigBangStereo 2_x64.dll.
The work-around that I found has eliminated this issue for me. I set Sonar to run in compatibility mode for Windows 8.
To do this on Windows 10, just look at the Compatibility tab on the application shortcut for the DAW. Under Compatibility mode, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for", then in the dropdown box, select Windows 8. Apply.
Seems fine now. I hope there will be a fix, because I'm afraid this workaround may break something else! Haven't found else anything broken yet, fingers crossed! -

The same here with Ableton Live 9.7.0 without using any external gear.
When BBCP with the GUI is loaded it crashes immediately after pressing keys to play the sounds. Hiding the GUI let me play the sounds, but that's no fun :(
Please check this out Sonivox and give us an update soon.
Thanks in advance!- view 3 more comments

Thanks again John! I just contacted them.

The same here in Cubase 8.5 with Big Bang Cinematic Percussion.
Using windows 10 64 bit -

Just press the "Learn" button after inserting the plugin, before playing any notes. This seems to bypass the "bug" somehow.
-
-
Hi John,
I'm going to try this tonight.
Thanks and greetings from Belgium. -
-
Hi John,
Your solution works, after pressing the Learn butten no problems.
Thanks. -
-
Glad that worked out for you. I also found that once I saved the project with the plugin inserted, I no longer needed to activate the "Learn" button.
-
-
Hi John,
Indeed, I opened 10 tracks with 10 different BigBang plugins all with other samples.
I pressed one time in all track on the lear button, saved the project, opened them again, deactivate the learn button...............tatarataaaa no problems.
Great solution.
Thanks,
Peter -

Actually not my solution, found it searching the other threads on this forum. Just trying to spread the word!
I recently got a good deal on the SONiVOX Premier Collection, including this Big Bang thing.
Overall it is a good value, other than a few rough edges like this. I find it useful, so I'm not going to wait around for a fix, or bash the company. But it remains unclear what the future holds for SONiVOX now that it's under the http://inmusicbrands.com/ family.-
I also got the deal with the Premier collection and I use the collection in combination with EastWest composers collection and miroslav philharmonik.
If you combine the samples with other vst instruments then they are useful.
Sorry for my bad English.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled 64bit Big Bang Cinematic Percussion crash in Cubase 8.5.
I get always a Cubase 8.5 (64 bit) crash when i use 64 Big Bang cinematic percussion, using windows 10 64 bit. -
-
Windows 10
Reaper.
Also, a real big thanks to the person who originally reported it.
Now that I know to close the GUI, I can still at least access the pluging.
Here's hoping Sonivox will fix this soon, though it's been two months since their employee updated the thread.
A bit of a shame concerning Sonivox's perfect record so far. But the plugin is quality. I'll be patient. :) -
-
Very surprised there has been no update for this yet.
This is very disappointing, as I have a product I paid for, but basically cannot use (the fix mentioned above does not work for me, and Big Bang crashes my DAW every time, like clockwork).
At the very least, I would think a forum update or comment would be a fair request. Nowadays, it isn't unknown for companies to abandon products and/or simply close up shop without a word, especially when there has been a change in ownership.
From what I can tell, Sonivox hasn't had a new product in two years, and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of activity on their site. Have to be honest -- that worries me a bit...-
It would be encouraging to see some sign of life from the SONiVOX developers ... anything at all!
-
-
I agree, RJ - don't hold your breath!

Try this,
Open BigBang, dont push any button or key and press first on the learn button.
This handles the problem in my case.
When you safe your project and reload the project it is no longer necessary to activate the learn button.

Peter.- view 2 more comments

This fix doesn't work for me at all, for whatever reason. However, I did find that the GUI will not crash at all in Samplitude. BB runs normally in Samplitude as a VST, you can use the GUI without hitting the learn button, etc. And its stable. Kind of surprising. BB crashes everything else -- including Reaper, which is impressive, since Reaper is usually pretty crash-proof (for me, anyway)...

Still Crash on macOS 10.12.6 & Logic Pro X 10.3.2

Well I surely hope that the SONiVOX developers are working on an update for their products to support Windows 10 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.
Those OS versions were released in July & August 2015, and as far as I can tell that was after the release of these plugins.
I'm guessing that most of the issues seen with Big Bang are related to running the latest OS.
If no updates are forthcoming, then these are surely end of life products ... -
-
-
-
They need to push out updates for the entire product line, just not a bug fix here and there.
Windows and MacOS have been on the newest release for two years now. Application compatibility for these mainstream OS versions is long overdue.- view 9 more comments

Since it has been 11 months since this was determined to be a software 'bug', it does leave me wondering what the developers are doing...or if the lights are even still on at Sonivox...

Still nothing? REALLY? Over a year and no fix for this?
It seems that the only plugins I have problems with are Sonivox. I guess it's time to remove these from my system and go with something that is stable. -
-
Frank,
you have already tried the trick with the learn button ?
if not, I'll hear it.
Greetsssssssssss,
Peter.-
I just use the sounds apart from the vst. Drop it in the sampler and move on. Haha
They clearly don't care to fix this. -

Ya, forget it. I just uninstalled it. SONiVOX doesn't care. Too bad, it worked great in windows 7. Loved it. Well off to find a replacement.
-
The samples will load in any sampler. They are not locked to the plugin, and some of them are very good!

Frustrating. I just bought this Big Bang 2.5. from Plugin Boutique. Crashed 10 times in a row. Learn button seems to help a bit. Crashed only like every 5 minutes now. Hey SoniCrap wake up now!!!
