I need help using the legacy Sonic Implant products with the recent Kontakt updates

After various unsuccessful communication attempts via the SONIVOX web site and Twitter, this is one of the last resources I can think of.

I recently purchased one of the legacy Sonic Implant products, the Symphonic Percussion. There seems to be a Kontakt 4 update made available at some point. Would somebody be in a position to advise whether that is available somewhere? I'd think somebody with SONIVOX must have it, right? And these legacy products are at least minimally supported right??

I much appreciate it in advance.

  • Hello,

Updates for Native Instruments Kontakt can be found on Native Instruments website. I do not have access to that software as it's from another developer, Native Instruments. The latest version currently right now is version 5. You can check out that version from the link here http://www.native-instruments.com/en/....

  • Hi Chris. Perhaps you misunderstood. I'm inquiring about the update to the Sonic Implant library, not an upgrade to the Kontakt sampler.

The Orchestral Percussion package I purchased from MusiciansFriend.com is the original version of the library that was designed at the time when Kontakt 2 was current. I understand in later years there was a library update release with scripting updated to the then current K4. That update is what I'm looking for.

    • Hi. The library is a boxed product, not a download. I'm not sure why you're suggesting I check a musiciansfriend physical order number on SONiVOX's ecommerce site, I'm really not sure why anybody would do that.

While the purchase was made at musiciansfriend.com, the product is a legacy Sonic Implants product, and the complete orchestral library rebranded under SONivox is still listed and sold as of today on sonivoxmi.com. Thus, I thought SONiVOX would still offer some kind of product support for it.

I called MusiciansFriend as you suggested, and their immediate response was to check with the OEM, SONiVOX, for support. I think that makes sense. That's the way support works for all other sound libraries I own. These distributors simply resell, thousand of products, they typically don't provide the kind of support I'm asking for here. If I were to purchase "Pulse" on MusiciansFriend, and there was an update to it, would I download it from MusiciansFriend or directly from SONiVOX?

Could you please simply clarify whether SONiVOX has any interest in supporting these legacy products or not? If there was need to consider to pay for an upgrade to these libraries latest version, I'd certainly be glad to consider. But I'd just appreciate the upfront clarity and specificity. Thanks.

  • I am interested in this as well. Have the Complete collection and am trying to "up my game" if the new scripts or "features" are available
