Vocalizer Pro 1.1 not showing up in Mixcraft 6 - but no problem with any other Sonivox VSTs

On my main studio computer, I use Mixcraft 6 Pro Studio, and I have the original Vocalizer loaded just fine. Also have Wobble 2.1, Twist 2.1, and Pulse loaded just fine as well. However, I cannot get Vocalizer Pro 1.1 to show up in Mixcraft. it installs just fine, and I'm selecting the 32-bit option, as Mixcraft is 32-bit. Still no go. Vocalizer Pro authorized just fine, but Mixcraft still doesn't see it. Even re-scanned the VST folder, and Mixcraft isn't picking this one up. It installed and showed up just fine in Mixcraft on my laptop, however. Uninstalled and re-installed VP1.1 and no change. This is the only VST from Sonivox I have had a problem installing. Maybe things are working fine and I'm looking in the wrong place - is VP1.1 not an "effect" like the original Vocalizer is?

Need help. Thanks.

  • Hi Bob, were you able to use Vocalizer Pro 1? Did the trouble start when updating to Vocalizer Pro 1.1? There are some application that do not supported it because you need to be able to route a MIDI track to it a certain way. Im not sure Mixcraft 6 allows this. Other DAWs that are not supported are GarageBand, MPC Software, ACID Pro, PreSonus Studio One, Propellerhead's Record.

  • Vocalizer Pro 1.1 installed and works just fine on my 32-bit Win7 laptop. It is my Win7-64 workstation at home that I'm haviong the problem with, even though I used the "32-Bit" install option of VP1.1.

Here's a screen shot of VP11 working just fine in Mixcraft 6. Note that it is installed side-by-side with original Vocalizer from Dubstep Destruction Tools, and opens just fine. On my Mixcraft 6 station at home, however, VP1.1 doesn't even show up in this pulldown list.

By the way: I think I see what you mean about sending MIDI to an Audio track to control Vocalizer Pro. Mixcraft 6 appears to not support this, as audio tracks don't seem to include MIDI as input, so I think you're right. Is this same MIDI-to-audio track function required for the original Vocalizer as well?
