Why do I still get pages from the people I have blocked? (Just like in the "old" SU.) I have blocked a stumbler who continually suggests poor-quality, mis-categorized pages, and the garbage still shows up, with the blocked user as suggester. Of course the old SU never fixed this. Will the "new" SU be any different and fix this? Does blocking a user serve any purpose, or is this still a phony feature?

Hi there,

Would you please write in to with your username and the usernames of people you are trying to block? Also please include a couple examples of times you've seen them or their content, and we'll look into it.

I provided the information requested. Could you answer my question in this space, and direct me to the relevant section of SU's help pages for future reference?
Thank you.

Blocking a user does not necessarily block "their" stumbles, and this feature was not originally intended to achieve this end (although we are considering extending it to do so).

The block feature is designed primarily to prevent communication between two parties, and you should find that a blocked stumbler no longer shows in your various visitor/followers lists, and that they are no longer able to message or share stumbles to you.

Your stumbles are based on a variety of criteria, and the suggester is not necessarily a primary factor, so - if you continue to stumble sites which have apparently been 'suggested' by a blocked stumbler, this tends to imply to that the 'recommendation engine' considers these to be stumbles that you might be interested in, irrespective of the origin (i.e. the person who added this stumble to the pool).

If you would be so kind as to provide your StumbleUpon username in this space, we can correlate your report to feedback, and the details you provided there so we can check whether there is a bug, or if some other issue at play, and/or whether we can offer you advice which will alleviate this problem for you,
