I like this idea and as some people have fairly specific areas of interests, it would be a good thing.

Most I find in the 45% range as "Could be better." I appreciate the compliment but can't believe I'm all that that unique.

I've had about a dozen in the low 80s but it's still no guarantee that you'll get consistently satisfying stumbles. You should post a link to your SU channel.

If you click on one of your tags and go to the bottom there is a link to others with the same interest as that particular tag. There you will find pages similar to yours and people that like it also

I would write a script to automatically stumble through profiles, add people with similarity >85% to a list, sort them, and give them to me, but stumbleupon should be doing that on its own, not sending me random profiles.

I really like this point, this script seems pretty easy to make too.

Oh I'm saying for stumbleupon not for a userscript of any sort. They store the info so you'd just have to have a search option that scans total number of favorites in each topic, and compares the two and produces a percentile that is compared to a user specified percentile. If it is above that minimum it's included, and if not, it's discarded and another user is queued. I'm not a programmer so that's just how I suspect it would work, but I doubt it's too much more complicated of an idea than that (although the coding is obviously complicated).

But they have similarity script. So the question is the search.

JUST FYI - When a topic is marked as "under consideration" it means that we have an internal feature request ticket filed that will be evaluated and revised during future product meetings. It does not mean that we are planning to build it. When that is the case, the topic status will be changed to "planned".

Thanks for the attention!

My trick to find people with high similarity rating:

0. Start here: http://www.stumbleupon.com/through.ph...
1. You're in "Stumblers"-mode: the button will take you to a random person
2. Click the button, wait until the graph appears
3. See if the similarity rating is over 50%
4. If yes, subscribe
5. Repeat from 2. (as fast as you can)
6. You can set your limit higher, if you see that 50% are too low. Just remove all subscriptions lower than your limit afterwards.
7. Pro tip: Middle mouse click on the stumble button opens a new tab. This way, you can load several persons at the same time (I found my optimum at 3-4)

I do this sometimes for about 20 minutes, and the highest rating so far was 62%.
If the sorting still doesn't work until next week, I'll probably write a Python script for this procedure.

I feel like I can't be the first to suggest this, but the creation of a neighbours tool would be pretty handy. Hopefully my suggestion is clear; on last.fm, users with high compatibility rates are listed for each user as their 'neighbours'. These are updated as their music tastes evolve, and a stumble neighbour feature should/would be updated as interests evolve. I feel like stumblers would find this useful as it would broaden our horizons a little bit more !

Any possibility of adding a search feature for people you have the highest compatibility with you?

Add this already, it's only logical...
It will allow you to find and follow people with sites similar, but not the same, thus vastly increasing your networking and exploring potential..

If you don't some other booming site like facebook or twitter is gonna steal this option from you very very soon.

Hello all,

FYI - This is a thread from our previous GetSatisfaction community that we moved here to track still-standing issues and feature requests. Feel free to comment and participate in these discussions if they are still relevant to your experience on StumbleUpon today. Thanks!
