Enabling "uncategorized" pages to be categorized

In looking back through my old Likes, I see many, many pages labeled "uncategorized." Yet "uncategorized" is not available as an entry in my tagcloud.

If "uncategorized" were to appear as an entry in our tagclouds, it would enable us to (a) suggest the appropriate topics for those page; (b) add appropriate tags to those pages, so they can be found again; or (c) delete those pages from our likes if they are uncategorized because they are no longer available.

As it is, those pages represent a large group of lost stumbles, pages that aren't circulating simply because the system was glitching in some way at the point they were first thumbed up or shared. They also represent a large group of Likes that I suspect aren't telling the algorithm what it is I actually like.

A way to easily access those pages among our Likes, and enabling user topic suggestions to put them back into circulation, would seem to be a win-win situation for users who like to organize their likes and for the algorithm to have better information to present us with the best possible stumbles.

Hi,

Our new classifier tool was released earlier this month and is already running on all newly submitted pages and the queue of miscatted pages. Eventually it will run through all uncategorized pages. We estimate this will be late August. This will assign the best possible category to the uncategorized pages and then you will be able to follow the normal procedure to report miscats if the classifier chooses a topic you feel is incorrect.
