Ok I hate the new StumbleUpon. I used to be able to edit the Stumbles I liked and now I have a bunch of broken links from peoples pages that aren't active anymore and I can't remove them. How do I edit all the links I have added to my page/profile. Please Help.

Hi there,

All you have to do is go to your Likes page and roll over the thumbnail of the site you wish to delete. When the dark screen comes up you will see a white "X" at the top right corner. Press the X and it should be removed. Please let me know if this does not work for you.

Also, if you'd report the URLs that are no longer working, that would be extremely helpful to us in clearly out irrelevant URLs. You can report these here or via the feedback form at http://www.stumbleupon.com/feedback.

Thanks!

Hi Thanks for getting back to me. I tried what you suggested and after I clicked the x I refreshed the page and it was still there and that seems to be the case for all the ones I want to remove. I hope this can be resolved, thanks for your assistance I will keep trying.

We are unable to reproduce this issue, so let's walk through it a bit:

1) Which browser are you in? Which version of the browser?
2) When you press the "X" does it sort of... move a little bit? (For lack of a better word.) When you actually press on the "X" you should see a little bit of a bounce to it.

If you could provide screen shots that would be awesome. Sorry for the problem!

Also note that when you press "X" it will sort of gray over lightly, but when you refresh the page it should be gone.

When I go to the link I want to remove I go over it and it turns dark. When I click the x it becomes shadowed or grey and seems like it should be removed but when I refresh it is still there. I am currently using Firefox 8.0 but it seems there is an update which i am about to do now.

@tmidennis,

Are you trying to remove something from Your Likes page or from Your History page? You can't edit Your History, since that's the record of all your stumbles, but you can edit Your Likes, since that's the record of what you have thumbed up.

It's the likes page. I know I can't edit History.

Yeah, I just tried removing something and now I'm seeing the same thing. I click the X, there's a "jiggle," and the thumbnail fades to gray, but when the page is reloaded it's back again. This is in Firefox 9.0.1, Windows XP.

After clicking the X the entry fades to gray:

After reloading the page, it's back in its unfaded form:

Thats exactly what mine does...and that screen shot is how mine appears.

Note that trying to delete the link changes the date in which it was "liked" from the original date to today's date upon reloading. My first screen shot shows today's date because I had tried to delete this one several times before taking the screen shot.

Not sure what mine does I am loosing patience with it...I know change is hard but when the old StumbleUpon worked fine then not sure why its being a pain in the ass now with this nonsense....I just want to get my likes looking the way I want and to be able to stumble and add likes for people to enjoy when the come across my profile....

That is crazy! Mainly because I can't reproduce it. I am on a Mac but I do have the latest version of FF 9.0.1.

I will ask the QA engineers if they can reproduce for us. The screen shots are very helpful.

One more thing, would you be able to send me the URLs of the sites you are trying to remove? (Whichever ones you feel comfortable sharing.)

Sometimes we saw this in the old StumbleUpon where if we have a URL submitted more than once it will repopulate the deleted one with an alternate version.

I dont know how to do a screen shot or else I would so you could see it on my page also but the ones submitted by Gladsdotter are the same. As for submitting the URLs it is many, too many to pass on, most are from stumblers profiles that dont have active accounts anymore so I want to get rid of them and clean up the way my pages and likes look...I know nothing about this stuff I just know it shouldnt be this had to remove a page/like so therefor it has to be a glitch in stumbleupon. thanks for your time in trying to resolve this...

The one I was trying to remove this morning is also a deleted Stumble account. This is the URL I get when I try to access it: http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1hnfjU

These pages delete from Favorites with no problems in the old SU, so the problem is definitely something with the way the new SU is configured.

I am having a very similar issue. I am trying to clean up content from my profile, and there are a few links that refuse to go away.

This bug seems to happen when the page in question is the last one left in an interest.

I have tried using the X button in the List View, and I have tried visiting the pages and giving them a thumbs down. Neither way is clearing the link out. Any links I try to remove that are not the last one left in an interest will delete just fine.

Hello,

Can you provide your username and a link to the Like you are trying to remove? We can look into this for you and hopefully give you a better explanation of why you cannot delete this.

Username: jkendrickallen

Here are two examples of links that I can not get to disappear from my Likes:

http://www.divinecaroline.com/22245/3...
http://www.elephantstaircase.com/wiki...

These are just two of them. If I use the "Show By Interest" option in the drop down box, the category "Alcohol" will show up in my tag cloud. When I click on "Alcohol" it brings up only those two links.

I have used the X method on them in List View and I have opened the pages and given them thumbs down. However, every time I navigate to my "Show By Interest" section, the Alcohol tag remains and, when I click on it, these two links are still there.

I have disabled all adblocking programs, all script blocking programs, and even closed the Stumble toolbar while attempting to do this. None of it has made a difference.

I solved the problem myself. In order to remove these things, I had to open the comments and remove any "tags" my account had assigned to them. That completed the removal process.

I would like to suggest that using the delete functionality automatically do that for the user. It would save a lot of confusion!
