The feature I would most like to see in the new SU, more than any other, would be an extension of the Your Friends' Activity feed on the Home page of the old SU. An endless feed of what the people and channels I am following are liking and reviewing would add more functionality to the SU page than anything else you could do, I think.

The channels I am following are primarily news sources publishing news stories. Without a feed of what they are publishing, I can't see what purpose there is in following a Channel. I don't want to get a news story, or a notification of an event, as a stumble three months after it is published. I want to see it as it is posted.

Without any sort of an activity feed, what is the point of even having Channels? And without any sort of an activity feed, how are we supposed to be interacting with the people we are following? How are we supposed to keep track of who's interested in what in order to know who would like shares of what? Stumbling through the favorites of the people we are following in no way compares to being able to see activity in real time.

The disappearance of the activity feed in the new SU is an enormous loss and I hope you will seriously consider not only bringing it back but expanding it as well.

completely agree.. and I would like to explain that as much as i like the idea of random stumbling, some of us still prefer a bit of control of what we're about to see. various issues with miscats (adult and other) mean that random stumbling can be problematic.
also, limited bandwidth is still an issue for some people so we like to choose where we're stumbling off to before clicking on a link with a pretty picture.

stumbling/seeing what my "friends" have thumbed up is how i find what is happening NOW. it's how i sometimes get to know about things before they goes viral on twitter/facebook/G+.
i NEED it.

I completely agree with Gladsdotter - I do miss the "my friends activity page" sooo much - without it, SU is nothing but stupid stumbling

The entire Suggested for You column on my Profile page is available space, because every single thing in that column duplicates what is on the Discover page. Having an activity feed there would be awesome.

The right-hand column on the Discover page would work as well, since that not only duplicates what is on the right-hand column of my Profile page, but also what is in the main column on the same page.

I don't need to see Suggested/Recommended in three places!! I do need to see an activity feed.

I've randomly stumbled on the new site, and was very disappointed. Stumbling on the old site at least led to some sites I actually liked. I could do a Google or other search of a subject if I only wanted to find everything on a certain topic. I agree; we need a friend feed added. That is what set SU apart from all other search sites.

Agreed .. one of the many failings of the badly conceived and broken 'new' design. It feeds into a wider question of whether SU intends people to have any interaction with other users or not. If the answer is 'not' then the new anti-social SU serves its purpose. If there *is* however supposed to be some element of sociability and interaction (from which good content discovery has always come) then the new design needs a major re-think.

I upthumbed some images on Dec.7th - they have had no views.
If nobody can see what I'm doing and I can't see what my friends are doing - I see no point in hanging around here any longer.

I am highly disappointed with the new SU. I miss the newsfeeds to find out what people are stumbling. The only way that I can find this out is by clicking on individual people/friends and see their activity. Unless something is done to improve interaction between stumblers, I am not going to stick around.

The lack of an activity feed is likely to be another one of the reasons why no one ever sees things I thumb anymore.

The new StumbleUpon interface is useless to me without the Discover > Recent Activity page.

A recent blog post indicated, "We’ll be creating an activity feed of content Liked by your friends." See http://www.stumbleupon.com/blog/whats...

where do i go to see what my "following" has thumbed up or reviewed ? In V4 it was on my Discover page.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
where are daily posts of my following ??.

this is really dragging on an absurd length of time and 7 months is 'patient' in anyone's language'. SU 101 = When you follow someone you want to see (in a convenient form) what they've been stumbling when you log onto SU. The fact that this pretty fundamental (and pre-existing) function was missed from the 'new SU' was amazing but the fact that its still missing *7 months* after this thread was started is even more so. Can anyone at SU say definitely a) that this missing functionality will be restored, and b) precisely when that will happen ? Someone must know .. surely ?

any news on this (other than 'watch this space') ? its 5 months now since Garrett Camp said in a blog post .. 'We’ll be creating an activity feed of content liked by your friends, and make it easier to connect with people you know'. The absence of this basic functionality is dragging on an *incredible* length of time and in its absence there's hardly any point in following anyone. The points made by Gladstrotter in originally questioning its puzzling omission are as valid today as they were 7 months ago. It really would be worth putting just a little bit of effort into something that's so valued by people who use SU

All this must feel so overwhelming to a staff that has by now figured out the new site design is more broken than useful. I'm hoping they scrap the whole mess and do it in-house this time rather than fixing anything.

Still no sign of the home page activity feed so we can see what the people we follow are stumbling. Visiting their SU pages to be faced with broken or generic 'thumbnails' isn't an attractive or even feasible alternative. 8 months since it was pointed out that this fundamental part of the stumbling experience was missing. 5 months since the then CEO Garrett Camp said it was coming soon. Users have been *incredibly* patient to no avail. Without a CEO perhaps things are just drifting aimlessly at SU ? It'd be nice to have this basic functionality restored sometime soon though. It would be one small way of mitigating the overwhelmingly isolating experience of the 'new SU'. It really shouldn't be this hard to get something so basic done. No wonder SU has suffered dramatic traffic loss and can't get users to stick around.
