Tip: How to Organize Your Favorites

StumbleUpon provides you with a number of tools for organizing and finding the pages you thumb up, enabling you to group your favorites into "folders" and thus personalize your "likes" in a way that will work best for you.

When you click on the word "Interests" on your Favorites page, you will find everything you have thumbed up grouped by the keywords associated with those pages.

In addition to the keywords generated by the topics of the pages you thumb up, you can add your own, personalized keywords, even giving each page a unique keyword, making it possible for you to organize your favorites any way you want and to easily find things again.

For example, many stumblers, including myself, use the keyword "Favorite" to mark the pages we really like, or the keywords "Read Later" to flag pages we want to return to. You can look at other stumblers' Interests lists to get an idea of how others use keywords too, but the decision of how you want to organize your "likes" is yours.

You'll find much more on how keywords work on SU, how to add your own, and how to search your favorites by keywords in this section of SU's Help Center: http://www.stumbleupon.com/help/searc...

Would it be possible to create a system where each user could make their own folders to organize all the favorites that they have? When you have a lot of favorites it can be near impossible to find one specific thing later. I am aware that this is somewhat possible by looking at favorites within one interest but what about other categories like "to read later" or "good songs" both of which would feature content that could be pulled from a number of interests. There are lots of potential things that users could do if a system like this was implemented.

Thank you

Is there a way to organize your favorites into folders, instead of just adding keywords for future searches?

So I've recently hit the 1000 favorites, which is a lot of sites. But if I want to go look at the funny stumbles that I've favorited, or the most useful ones, I have to trudge through hundreds of different stumbles. An idea would be to give stumblers the ability to create different lists in which they can dump their favorites right after stumbling them. It would make things easier for those who want to look at old favorites that belong to a specific category that they choose.

Hey StumbleUpon!
First off, I LOVE YOU. A little too much maybe, because I have way more favorites than I can keep track of. Do you think you can put in an organizational system allowing users to make lists so that they can navigate their favorites more easily? Maybe there already is something like that, in which case I would be the idiot that doesn't do my research, but I think it would really help!

I've been trying to find a stumble that I liked a few weeks ago, and I don't remember what category it was and I have way too many favorites to look through all of them.
StumbleUpon should make some way to like star your favorites that you'll want to refer back to, or some way to better organize all of them. It would make it much easier to use teh websites you find!

I 'favorite' so many pages... a DIY fashion site I want to go back to, a recipe I'd like to bake someday, a video that my sister would find hilarious.... but it is so hard to find things in my favorites once I put them there. It would be nice to be able to have different folders or categories in your favorites to organize the different pages.

Not a question but a suggestion. definitely start organizing our favorites better not just in chronological order some other system would be great, because sometimes i would like at something that i have Favorited months ago, but then i am unable to find it because there are so many.

So, I got to thinking. I've got like, 245529052935 different stumble finds in my "favourites" section. But that's like, 800 pages worth. D:
It's really tiring / annoying, if like, I'm looking for ONE specific find, to have to scroll through, page after page, searching for it.
SO. WHAT IF, you could create different folders, for different stumble finds?
For example, you could have one folder, where you can have all your "humour" finds or your "beauty" finds. something like that. Where you could choose to not only add a find you "like" to your favourites, but to actually add it to a seperate folder for some easy access / organization !

It would be awesome to "like" something on StumbleUpon, and then be given the option to put the "liked" website into a personalized category or list of your choice.

Even though I know websites are automatically categorized, being able to personalize these lists - or prioritize them - would be absolutely awesome.

For example, in my HUMOR list, I would like to be able to separate HUMOR into different categories like funny pictures, comics, jokes, etc.

By creating my own lists, I would also be able to put certain things into personally labeled lists like "ROFL" ; "FUNNY TO SHARE WITH FRIENDS" ; or "FUNNY FOR FAMILY."

That way, I can access all of my favorite Cyanide and Happiness comics without having to scroll through funny YouTube videos.

Just a thought!

When going to the page of my favorites, it would be great if I could categorize my favorites how I like them. For example putting all my stumbles of food into one section, and pictures of nature into another and so on...

I have well over a hundred favorites, but I click the "Like" button so I can always have those sites without constantly bookmarking them. Or I do it because I think whoever made the site did a great job so I give them a like, but having to sort through all that is enough to make you crazy. So I propose we make folders to store different favorites in. For example, let's say you have several websites that are music sites, then you have a bunch of picture sites. Well you'd create a "Music Favorite" folder and a "Music Favorite" folder, and voila! Your organized and you know right where to go to next time.

First off: StumbleUpon is one of the greatest web apps.

I tend to "like" or "thumbs up" a lot of pages, I currently (as of this posting) have 257 favorites. When I go back to revisit some of these I have to go through all of the pages to find what I want.

Can we please have a way to organize our favorites? A simple option of creating folders so we can place them and/or tag them would be great!

I think it takes way, way too long to delete some favorite. I know when I first got hooked on StumbleUpon I "Liked" almost every page I saw. Now, I'd like to quickly go through and delete some older pages.

Also, along with deleting old favorite I'd like to organize my favorites into categories so I can find the pages I liked quicker according to folders that their in.

PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE? :)

I would like the ability to delete a specific tag from my whole tagcloud (without having to remove it from each one of my favorites).

I would like the faculty to rename a specific tag from my whole tagcloud (without having to change it within each of all my favorites).

I would like the possibility to bulkily change (add, rename or delete) one or multiple tags from a batch of selected favorites, at the same time (without having to change favorites' tag(s), one by one ).

We should be able to look at the pages we've already liked in a more organized way. Like I want to look at all the pages I've favorited that are ONLY in the "environment" or the "art" section. And we should be able to look at more than 10 per page!!
