Hi Stumbler Nation,

StumbleUpon's CEO, Garrett Camp, authored a blog post to provide some insight into StumbleUpon's site redesign. He also commented on a couple future features we are excited to build for you. We wouldn't have known about many issues and received so many awesome ideas without your feedback and thoughts -- so thank you and keep them coming!

Read his post here and please let us know what you think about the new StumbleUpon. Even though we might not respond to every single piece of feedback, we promise a human being reads every post, Tweet, and email sent our way to share with the rest of the StumbleUpon team. We really appreciate you!

Thank you!

OK, so I sneaked a peek, and here's a pearl of wisdom I found:
"This was the biggest update we’ve ever made, and overall we’ve had a positive response to the new design."
Am I having vision problems? Could anyone kindly point me towards this praise for the new design? Link takes me to the site where people praise SU, not the new design. Maybe the praise is here?

Or could it be here?

I'm feeling like I'm watching somebody who has suffered a stroke; his speech intact, but huge chunks of perception of reality have been lost forever. Why am I angry? Because I've just learnt that I will be forced to use the new interface next month. Are you even listening? Pretty much every user is opposed to it, and yet you claim that you've had positive response. About as positive as an HIV test.
Well done shooting your own foot SU.

I have failed to see one iota of praise for the new version.

How right you are. The New Stumbleupon is pretty much rotten lousy (with apologize to any lice I might insult, but the SU staff deserve no such respect. Respect is earned and they have not or will not ever earn my respect.

I think its 'corporate-speak' .. the response in all of the threads I've seen here has been overwhelmingly negative as long-time users have pointed out over and over again, in general and in specific detail, where the 'new version' fails so badly.

Following the purge of last October, SU was diminished and limited but still at least partially functional. Once they switch to their abysmal 'new version' in March it will become totally dysfunctional and not even an option for those hanging on out of sentiment rather than common-sense.

Its like no revision that has ever gone before in terms of stripping out or obscuring functionality valued by users. Yes .. the new 'user-hostile' version of Stumbleupon genuinely *is* that awful and that much of a failure ..

Thank you for the good laugh, Garrett!

It's interesting that we were asked to give our opinions here and now for PR purposes another website (amplicate) is used... Thumbs up for the propaganda machine!

generally folks only come here (or any other support forum) in the first place if they have a problem; if they want to say something nice, they do it on twitter - amplicate just helps collect those tweets, both positive and negative.

This became more than just a support forum when you asked what we thought of the new SU.

When I look at the 'Praise' section here It's rather empty. It shows two compliments, one just showing a seemingly random picture, one is a complaint and the other is some confused Dutchmen saying "I don't know what you mean, but I'll do what you ask" with one horrible spelling error to top it off.

heart warming praise! Your mothers must be so proud!
