What does it mean when this message occurs in my java script console "Unable to post message to http://www.stumbleupon.com. Recipient has origin http://www.*mywebsite*.com."

I'm having the same problem and have found posts with others asking the same question, but haven't found a solution. Anyone?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

StumbleUpon has chosen not to accept submissions from certain domains at this time. The restrictions include but may not be limited to the following:

- domains with the .tk extension
- any shortened URLs created with various URL shortening services (to avoid getting duplicates in our directory)
- domain names which use an IP address
- submissions from 'secure' pages (https://).
- submissions from certain major email provider domains
- submissions from domains that were banned for breaking our Terms of Service

We hope this helped answer your question.

A good way to start would be to tell us what your website is! (o;

No restriction on that domain, at this time, Frozeman.

Do be sure to heed the guidance in this Help Center article, though:

Can I use StumbleUpon to promote my web page?

If you're still encountering technical problems adding content to StumbleUpon, please let us know the details - preferably in a new thread, since this one refers to a problem that was resolved some months ago.

It shows the stumble upon button, but i get this error in the console:
Unable to post message to http://www.stumbleupon.com. Recipient has origin http://feindura.org.

So i wonder whats wrong, i add it like its said in your website.

i just saw that you restrict commercial websites. it may be seen as a commerical one, but its a free open source software, which is not commercial, because its only me doing this.

so if you could remove from the commerical list would be nice :)
or does the button work even though? its not so clear for me that whole thing.

I just used the StumbleUpon button on your home page to successfully 'Like' that page, so it seems to be working as expected. If you continue to see failures, please let us know more details (in a new thread please!) - including browser/OS, and a screengrab of the error message, if you can. Thanks!

Hi,

the button seem to work for me as well (even though its not so well designed, because the like button should be the primary button and not the go stumble.. because thats what the user clicks on the button)

but i still get this error message. i used chrome or safari and iam on a mac 10.8.
my site is using the mootools js library.

i attached a picture.
