I’m Kinda concerned

Floating Box does not work in Wordpress

Hi Guys,

I can't get the floating lightbox to work within a wordpress theme. If I start with a blank .html page and follow your instruction the floating lightbox works fine.

Could you please provide a wordpress workaround for this?

Many thanks!

  • Hi,

Currently, the floating lightbox is a bit tricky to implement with WordPress. However, it's totally possible.

Important note: Please be sure you're in the HTML editor before proceeding.

Be sure that you have no new lines between the <a> and the<video>, that's actually the main issue that usually happen.

So you should write it like this:

    <a class="sublime" href="http://yoursite.com/video-mobile.mp4"><img src="http://yoursite.com/video-thumb.jpg" alt="" /></a><video style="display:none" class="sublime zoom" width="640" height="360" poster="http://yoursite.com/video-poster.jpg" preload="none"><source src="http://yoursite.com/video.mp4" /><source src="http://yoursite.com/video.webm" /></video>

The issue comes from the fact that WordPress transforms any new line into a <br /> element, which cause the floating lightbox to break.

  • Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that we support the ligthbox in the WordPress plugin (via a different shortcode) since its version 1.3.1. Please learn more in our documentation.
