My "Ward Clark's Ebooks" shelf on the Take Control site, which lists all of my purchased titles, has an "Offers" column.
In the past couple of weeks, I've received 50% off offers for updates/side-grades for some of these titles. Why don't these offers appear on my Ebooks list?
When I received the second offer today, I thought my Ebooks list would be an easy place to see all current offers.

EMPLOYEE1I'd have to log in as you to see exactly what's happening, Ward, but the main difference - I think - is that the Offers column only shows direct upgrades from one _edition_ to another edition of the same title at the moment. We had initially designed that column to show "sidegrades" too - one _title_ to another title - but that proved very confusing to people when they clicked the offer link and were taken to the Check for Updates page showing the offer. It just wasn't worth the support mail we were answering.
When we're sending email offers, we can very granularly pull out specific groups of people - say, everyone who bought "Take Control of Screen Sharing in Snow Leopard" before June 1st, 2011 - and send them a discount to a new title, like "Take Control of Screen Sharing in Lion." Since we're explaining the conditions of the offer in the email, no one is confused.
We're starting a major redesign process on the site, and we're hoping to fix up a lot of this stuff, so hopefully we'll get it working more clearly.
EMPLOYEE0Ward, another possibility is that you have two accounts in the Take Control system, and the account you are logged in with is not the account that "owns" the ebooks you are asking about. I see two people with your name in the system, but I am not sure which one (or ones) you are.
If you could use the form at http://www.takecontrolbooks.com/faq#c... please let me know which email addresses you may have used (even if approximate) and I can see which account (or accounts) you have.
Thank you, -Tonya
