I’m frustrated

Why do you not offer RSS as a destination?

So nearly a useful tool. This aggregation of feeds is something that plenty of folks need, but is only really delivered by Yahoo Pipes, and that doesn't work well...

  • Thanks for the feedback Stuart,

We currently offer RSS feeds as an input that can trigger workflows?

Having RSS as a destination is something interesting as well. What specific features would you like to use on such workflows? (e.g. e-mail to RSS feed?)

  • The big thing for me is to be able to take 5 or 6 individual feeds, sort them, filter on certain attributes (e.g. remove duplicate posts, include only posts with certain tags etc) and then publish it as a new RSS feed to be consumed elsewhere.

e.g. I run about 10 blogs, and publish a feedburner feed that includes all our posts, but feedburner can't do the aggregation piece right now.

There are other tools that allow this (including free ones) but they all have drawbacks. I'd love to be able to use TarPipe to do this, then both RSS aggregation and social posting could be done in the one UI.

  • We're just starting with RSS feed reading so having those features is something that might happen sooner or later.

We see RSS feeds as both entry points and destinations. The challenge is to adapt our current publishing model so that it can read whole feeds at a time, instead of one item at a time.

Again, thanks for the great feedback and we hope to be able to offer those features soon.
