The auto-update feature is not yet enabled for Dropbox-based sites.

    The reason is multi-fold:

    * We need some back-end upgrades to store copies of the content in your Dropbox folder and periodically poll for updates to the contents (rather than pulling the entire content on each "refresh request)
    * We haven't figured out good semantics for auto-update. We don't want to update on all changes to the folders because you might save some work-in-progress that shouldn't be published.

The issue is on our issue tracking list and we hope to have some resolution by end of August.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for this info, David. Your second point is the one I already thought about, too. I have copied a file and I was not sure if it will be released immediately. For me a solution could be to add a file "DONOTRELEASE" or something in order to set a flag. So my workflow could be

    touch DONOTRELEASE
    cp ...
    vim ...
    ...
    rm DONOTRELEASE

or just the other way round

    rm -f RELEASENOW
    cp ...
    vim ...
    ...
    touch RELEASENOW

    Just my 2ct :-)

I love this idea. I've added your suggestion to the Telegram ticket (sadly GitHub's ticketing system doesn't allow public viewing of tickets for private repos)

    Thanks!
