I’m confused

Crossed wires on conversations / keywords

Hi .. my keyword is sending back the wrong conversation ... Keyword in question is 1262,759 ..sending back responses from 6180,759

    Keywords are short words that your customers can text in to 52627 to receive customized responses from your conversation

    I noticed in your account that you haven't yet linked one of your keywords to a conversations. You can do this at http://textingly.com/keywords/lists/

    I am also writing you at the email address we have on file to answer any other questions you may have

  • Joel, I had unhooked the keyword to see if that helped...

    I figured out WHY it was happening ... because i had previously texted (KEYWORD1) to 52627 (the other conversation I have set up) ... it thought I was replying instead of starting a new conversation .. so it was sending me the generic / default response for the (KEYWORD1) conversation ... instead of starting a new conversation with (KEYWORD2)

    I went in and cleared my cell # out of the (KEYWORD1) contact list ... resent (KEYWORD2) to 52627 and that worked...

    but the problem remains ... if they have previously sent a keyword to 52627 ... it's still going to think they are replying to a previous conversation ..

  • Here is an explanation of what is happening with the situation you described:

    Once someone has texted in a keyword and been added to a conversation on Textingly.com, they stay in that conversation until either:
    1) STOP is texted which removes them from the conversation
    or
    2) the @ symbol is texted in preceeding a different keyword. (for instance @KEYWORD).

  • Hi, I think I am having this problem too.

    My church has multiple textingly accounts.

    Our church has one, my ministry has one, and another has one. We each have our own account through a different email address. We have different keywords. I set up my account and tested it with my phone and it worked. I tested again with my wife's phone and it worked. When I announced it was available, people signed up but they're not showing up in my contact list.

    We recently discovered that all the messages for my account are being sent to the church account.

    We are wondering if instead of sending a new text to 52627, they replied to an old one and it went to the church's account and not mine.

    I'm not 100% understanding point two above (@ symbol preceding the keyword) and how it changes anything, but it may be the issue.
