I would just like to say that our 14 night Cuba holiday which included 7 nights tour and 7 nights in Melia Cayo Coco was fantastic!
Melia Cayo Coco was an exceptional hotel and a beautiful location. The food was lovely and the staff were all so friendly. Couldn't recommend the hotel more!
The 7 night tour was equally good. Well paced, with a great overview of Cuban architecture, lifestyle and natural beauty!
If possible please try and pass on praise to the tour guide Orleans as he was brilliant! His passion and enthusiasm for his country does his nation proud and his insider knowledge on the tour was superb. We went to many places we wouldn't have found on our own and always seemed to be one step ahead of the other tourist crowds.
Overall the holiday gets a massive thumbs up and 9 out of 10. It would have been 10 but sadly the standard of the El Comodoro hotel in Havana for which we had a 3 night stay was very poor. Our entire group complained about the dirty rooms, broken facilities and miserable staff. Orleans was equally unsatisfied with the standard of Hotel as it had never been part of the tour before. I know standards in Cuban can be lower than you might expect in other countries but all the other hotels on the tour were much much better. Even where they were basic they were still clean and had friendly staff. Please don't ever send anyone here again as its a real shame that an otherwise perfect holiday is affected by such a low standard hotel for the price of the holiday.
But this one point aside the holiday was great and the Tour in particular and our guide Orleans was perfect. Please try and pass this praise onto him and his company.
