I’m wondering

PPV Method???

does tracking202 work for PPV networks as well? If so is there a difference in setting up the campaigns? Are there any tutorials or videos re PPV?

  • This is a really interesting question, because with PPV, you can think of the "landing page" either as a landing page, or as your ad which links directly to the offer.

    I'm currently experimenting with setting up 2 campaigns in tracking202 for each actual campaign that I'm running. I use one campaign as a "Landing Page" campaign which allows me to track keywords from the incoming PPV traffic. The other campaign I setup is a direct link campaign. I use the link from that campaign on my "landing page" to link directly from there to the offer. That allows me to also track keywords on the click-throughs.

    I haven't found a better way to get both (tracking on incoming keywords, and tracking on clikthroughs by keyword). Maybe tehre is... I want to get a real answer to this question, too!

    Cheers,

  • EDIT: ...7 months old. Dang I'm a n00b.

    If I'm direct linking I just generate a direct link in 202 and drop it into a php redirect script.

    So say if you are running on Trafficvance you can use the {keyword} tag in your urls to pass the urls/keywords you are targeting to your redirect script.

    My redirect script would look like this
    'http://www.YOUR_202_LINK_HERE.com/tra...,
    '1' => 'http://www.YOUR_202_LINK_HERE.com/tra...,
    '2' => 'http://www.YOUR_202_LINK_HERE.com/tra...,
    '3' => 'http://www.YOUR_202_LINK_HERE.com/tra...,

    );

    if (array_key_exists($_GET['id'],$path))
    header('Location:'.$path[$_GET['id']]);
    ?>

    For the 202 link keyword I usually have and ad name then would attach the urls that I get traffic from at the end.

    So my link I use in my campaigns for TV would look like this.

    < http://www.MYTRACKER.com/redirect.php... >

    Now where id=1 in the link is would be '1' in the redirect script. where the $kw is in the script is where the URL would go that I received traffic from.

    so in 202 in my keywords I would see ADNAME_URL

  • I'm using tracking202 for PPV but its not ideal.

    I want to track keywords (or actually URL), which tracking 202 works ok, but I want to split test landing pages or / offer pages with a direct link

    I know you can rotate offer pages in a direct link, but this information doesnt appear in the stats as far as 'how many click, optin and sales from a specific landing page.

    If this info was available then tracking 202 would be ideal
