Execution of cryptocurrency buy and sell orders through TradingView:

Hello,

I have a question: is it possible to put cryptocurrency buy/sell orders through tradingview either directly or through some form of plugin?

Big thanks for your response!

  • Hi, at the moment, it is not possible to place a trade from a TradingView chart with a crypto currency and route the order to a crypto exchange. We have implemented the REST API for new brokerage on TradingView. Brokers and crypto exchanges, which are not available in our platform yet, can use this tool for integration: https://www.tradingview.com/rest-api-....

You could contact the crypto exchange you would like to trade with straight from our charts and suggest they build a bridge to our interface using the above-mentioned API. It’s the most effective way to initiate this process.

Fyi the list of all currently supported brokers can be found here: https://goo.gl/MqDQ12

It's great that you have the API available for broker but please note - we crypto traders *need* the brokers in order to execute trades, we're going to be using them whether they offer the bridge to TV or not. Our decisions on what exchanges to use are based more on what coins they offer and what countries they serve, and to some extent what trading features. TV integration will only ever be a minor consideration in choosing what exchanges to use. So, there's not really a strong incentive for exchanges to do the work of integrating with you via your API.

However, while using TradingViews is very nice, TV is not essential for people to trade. So you may want to consider that you have a greater need to proactively add live crypto trading, as an added draw to bring people to your service, than the exchanges do. The exchanges will get our business whether they link to you or not. You may not get some people's business unless you link to them.

As I said in my other post, I'm looking up at signing up with Quantopian because they offer live crypto trading with their strategy scripts. I'm otherwise very happy with TradingView and would greatly prefer not to switch from it, but if I can successfully write fully automated trading strategies with Quantopian where TradingView's strategy still require me execute crypto trades manually, you're going to lose my business, with my regrets.

So you might not want to just lay the API option at the exchanges' feet and consider that good enough. As a customer, I think it might be good business for you to be more proactive about integrating them on your end.

  • Hi, you can now trade crypto pairs directly from your TradingView charts if you have a live account with Poloniex.
