I've used freestockcharts.com for a couple of years now and I really like(d) them. Your charts BLOW THEM OUT OF THE WATER!
The only thing you could do to make things better is add some capability for adding alerts to symbols in the portfolio.
I would not make a new button or new tool for this - instead, add an option to existing annotations for adding an alert. For example, suppose I have a horizontal line, right-click, "add alert". Suppose I used the "Thumbs-Up" icon .. right-click, "add-alert". This seems the most logical way to add an alert to me.

Can you extend the expiration date on the alerts as far out as the user wants?

SMS alerts would seal the deal on going Pro

4We are making the final internal tests of the alerts functionality. The expected release date - first week of July. It took some time but you'll enjoy the flexibility of this feature. Thank you for you patience. -
The industry does not want this kind of power available to the average person. This is a HUGE advantage they enjoy, because not only do they have alerts, they have STAFF who man the helm 24/7! Having alerts would basically give the average Joe the same kind of manpower as a fully staffed Forex trading company... this is what we are up against here...

Could admins give us any news? Maybe some features about this upcoming alert? It would be nice if there is ability to run custom commands when alert is triggered. Email alert? Give us something.
-
If there's some problem with reaching out to the OS to throw the alert, could you just (temporarily even) create an Alert method that produces an audible sound and a pop-up ? Nothing fancy. We just need to be able to call it in the script like we do for background colors:
alert( value1<value2 ? na : tone=true, text="Go long now!" )

Hello,
Can you please give us an approximate development date? Admin says "close" in your previous post. How close?
End of April, May, June... ?
I am not sure if this feature is treated as priority because I don't think it would take 10 or more months to develop it. -
Alerts based on prices crossing sloping trendlines - as well as just price levels - would be useful too. :)
-
1) Horizontal line and vertical line alerts
2) Trend line alert (price crossing the down trend line)
3) Volume alert (volume crossing MA or line)
4) Indicator crossing (2 MAs, or price crossing MA) alerts.
5) If indicator, volume or price is growing/falling/staying in range for specified amount of periods.
6) If price croses target or stop price of Risk/Reward tool.
7) Complex alerts (if 2 or more conditions meet at the same time.)
Example: Price stays in 50 cent range for 10 days, and volume comes in (volume crosses 5MA) -
Please add alert for Indicator levels too !!
-
Its very hard to control all symbols. I mean very hard to watch for them everyday.
So my idea will help with this.
I offer target-alert system. Alerts and distance to the targets are visible in watchlist.
This is how i see it.
Any questions?

1Now you can configure sounds for alerts. Check the “Play Sound” box and choose the sound that will be played when an alert is triggered. To listen to the sound click “Play” next to the sound name:
You can also configure how long the sound plays for.
Thanks to all our users for their feedback and input, which helps improve our service. It’s highly appreciated! Happy holidays! -

I'd like this kind of alert:
% movement down in price from today's price, monitored forever. In other words, if the stock is down 50% from today on some day from today until infinity, send me an alert on that day. -

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Alerts message on custom scripts incomplete.
When an alert is emailed for a custom script, neither the email subject heading nor the message contain the Symbol name nor the chart interval. This needs to be fixed right away. Editing the message is possible but not practical. -

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Alert Event Vector.
Alerts are triggered by events. Events happen in sequence. Events can occur between various oscillators asynchronously. Therefore event alerts require the ability to enable or disable a sequential alert to be truly useful in a multi-event driven buy-sell analysis. Uniquely label each alert. Create an event vector in the alert action list that enables or disables an alert by label. -

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Repeating Audible Alerts Tied To Time - Let's HEAR When a Bar Closes!.
Am I the first person asking for the ability to set up a simple audible alert based on repeating TIME periods? I'd like to be able to go about my business and be alert right at or before a bar closes, to see whether I'd like to trade on the open of the next bar.
Ideally, it would go off right BEFORE the close of whatever period in specified. Second best would be a simple alert ON the close... -

The much anticipated alerts for drawings are live! Alerts are available for the following drawings:
Configure the alerts here:
- Drawing settings panel:
- Drawing properties:
- Right-clicking the drawing:
If a drawing has an active alert, you’ll see an icon next to the drawing (same color as the drawing).
If the alert is inactive, the icon becomes gray.
If the drawing is changed, the alert is automatically adjusted. When no longer needed, the alert can be deleted in the Manage Alerts or in the editor box.
Note: Drawing alerts depend on the chart resolution, just like the indicator alerts.- view 12 more comments

where do you enter an email address for the new alerts feature? I've searched all over TradingView and and even watched the videos about alerts still can't find out how to do this! Why is it so hidden?!
You can check the "Send email" or "Send SMS" in the alerts pop-up window, but where do you enter the email address for the alerts to be sent to?!-
It is configured in the settings of your profile: https://www.tradingview.com/u/kennerh...

I'm having a problem with the alerts. I'm testing the alerts feature using a PRO trial subscription.
I want to set an alert on the monthly chart for a six month period but even though there is a calendar, but it is locked to only allow a ONE MONTH MAXIMUM alert window. Anything over a month is greyed out and not accessible.
Is this because I'm using a PRO trial subscription or is this the maximum time that the alerts will allow?
One month is geared to short term traders and not near enough time for longer term traders. PLUS, it's not near enough time when you're setting alerts on a weekly or monthly chart. What's the deal?!

Yes they are good for only one month and then you need to reset them. This needs to be changed and I would also like to see universal conditional alerts on watch lists added, such as BB touch or MACD cross on a whole watch list.
-
-
We are working on this. So far the limitation is so to avoid problems on our servers, but we are going to improve that in future. You can check your alerts once a month and reset them.

Another issue with alerts. Why is the maximum REARM timeframe ONE HOUR?! How come there's not at least a ONE DAY option?
I can only set alerts that trigger ONE DAY (on occasion or on close) but I can't have them rearm after that daily trigger. This doesn't make sense.
Again, it seems that the alerts feature is geared only to short term traders.
-
Could someone from TradingView please respond to these two issues?!
-
-
If you configure the alert this way, it will be triggered once per hour when it crosses 88.36. It will stay active till expiration date/time. If you want to get an alert every time when it crosses 88.36, you need to select Rearm every 1 minute. Such alerts don't depend on your chart timeframe. Hello, A couple of things i'd love based around alerts.
1) if it could record the raw alert in console.log or in some sort of object that I could pull that would be hugely useful for me in extending it to my own custom javascript stuff to record and monitor alerts. Because I'd like to be able to push all of it to a server to save in mysql. But can't easily at the moment.
2) on the right, being able to give a custom description for my own information.
3) again as an alert - if there was a box that let me optionally choose a call or put option so that I could instantly know if I wanted to call or put based on an alert that would be really helpful! -
-
Actually, is there a way from console that I can pull an object containing the alert logs? That would seriously help me out. I can do individual alerts with:
TradingView.alertsDispatcher.stash._alerts
To get an object pertaining to each alert. But is there a way I can do similar with the alert events? -

We recommend you to disable extensions in Chrome.
-
-
Issue has been resolved already and now it is happening again. (Chrome extensions are disabled)
Also 'Rearm every hour' alerts set for one month, some fire just once and immediately become inactive. Some, not all.
Doesn't look like a problem at my end. -

I would like if you work on this problem ?

Please allow saving alert templates. The same way as it's done with drawing objects.
A template would remember all the fields, including indicator-based conditions. (Depending on the indicator being present in the chart.)
The exception fields would be Expiration Time (the date part) and Message.
- Expiration Time would remember the duration in days, rather than a specific date.
- Message would remember the message as is, but would allow the use of a keyword for ticker name - eg. #TICKER# - to spare having to add the ticker name manually each time.
Thank you. -

Hi. A question:
How to set up an alert to be triggered on the close of a bar while ensuring the signal is still there on the close? It requires two 'on-close', one for Frequency, which is there, but there seems to be missing a Condition field 'on-close'. What often happens is, the signal appears (condition is met) BRIEFLY as the bar forms, it disappears a few seconds later, but the alert is still sent on the close of the bar. I get too many such false alerts with no signal in place. I wish to receive these alerts on the close of a bar only if the condition is still met on the close of the bar. How to accomplish that, please advise. Thank you. -

custom sound files
it would be great, if when we edit the alert notification sounds, we would be able to enter a custom url, to point to a web resource where we host our own mp3 files.
then we could record our own voice speaking "USDJPY is shitting the bed!"
it's a little nicer than the default sounds found at https://www.tradingview.com/static/so...
and it would please my spouse who thinks the smoke detector is broken :) -
-
In the drop down menu, please add the option to view only a certain type alert. Including indicator-based. It might be tricky to implement, user-interface wise, but it's much needed.
Thanks! -
