Ideas on searching and sorting

I think something that would be really helpful is if there is a second search bar inside lists, the library, watched items, ratings and so on.

For example, if you look at a friend his collection of movies and want to see if he has a particular movie in his collection that can be nearly impossible if that particular friend has thousands of movies in his collection.

The current options for searching and sorting for the most of the features that show items on Trakt is pretty limited. If for example you want to look at all the horror movies you have scrobbled or want to see all the comedy episodes you saw between January 2011 and May 2012 than there is no way of seeing that currently.

I think its really great that the current search options are being updated and that more search features are being added, but there is still a lot that can be improved, or needs a complete overhaul. Not just on the main search option, but also the sorting options regarding lists, library, charts, ratings and watched history. For people like me who have watched thousands of different items by now using Trakt that would be a very welcome addition.

One website that i really like and used as an example here on the support of Trakt more often is anidb.net. And in this case its no different. I really like their advanced search options and i hope that Trakt would consider implementing similar advanced search features.

In these search features you can practically search on everything that matters and get the best results. On top of the standard advanced search features like title, year, votes and characters they also have a few unique search options that until now i have not yet found anywhere else on the internet for tv shows: They have the option to search for themes, settings, places and many more things. For example if i wanted to search for tv shows set in world war 2, a sitcom, stereotypical characters and a bar as setting i could do that with anidb (if they had more than just anime's).
